Would You Like To See A Nas And Jay-Z Collaborate Again?

The history of Jay-Z and Nas beef will be talked about for years to come. It seems like it was just yesterday when Nas and Jay-Z were involved in the what some may call the greatest Hip-Hop battle of all time.

It seems that Jay-Z and Nas have put all of that behind them. In 2006, Nas was good enough for Jay-Z to sign him to a $3 Million dollar record deal. Even Fat Joe and Jim Jones have a long-standing history with JAY-Z, having beefed with him in the early 2000s.

Until we hear otherwise, let's look at past Jay-Z and Nas collaborations and beef and talk in today's terms. What if they were to collaborate again in the near future. Do you think they would produce there best work yet? Or do you feel it would only end up as it did the first time?

How a Hustler From Brooklyn Became a Billionaire

Jay-Z has long been known as one of the greatest rappers of all time, but now he’s known even more for his business acumen and massive wealth. Forbes recently named him Hip-Hop’s first billionaire, and with his diverse portfolio of investments, business ventures, and personal assets, it’s not hard to believe.

Despite the fact that it may seem like Jay-Z earned all of his wealth overnight, it was actually a long process that was decades in the making. Many people know the man, but few know the story.

By-Wear launches its Essential Eminem series vintage tees

Eminem enjoys an undue level of support across the globe. Japan is especially fond of Slim Shady, it seems; it apparently wasn’t enough that one brand was creating high-end remakes of Em’s vintage tees because another basics specialist has now tossed its hat in the ring as BY-WEAR launches its ESSENTIALS Eminem series.

Apparently unrelated to the prior effort by Insonnia Projects, BY-WEAR’s time-consuming shirt, sweater and hoodie designs nevertheless share quite a bit of overlap in the designs it has elected to reprint. There’s The Marshall Mathers LP, Slim Shady LP The Eminem Show and even Anger Management tour designs on hand, but BY-WEAR has also included a few new selections, which include an old promo shot in front of a car and the cover art of Em’s divisive Revival. To further distinguish the shirts, they feature smaller iterations of the printed graphics.

RZA Talks Second Chances and Cut Throat City Film

There calling him the leader of Wu-Tang Clan. RZA, or Bobby, as he is known to close friends and colleagues, had a particular way of putting beats to razer-sharp lyrics that made you feel part of a song’s creative process. Fans feel RZA’s music, both from Wu-Tang and his solo and collaborative efforts, on a cellular level.

An urban-bred intellectual who expresses through a mic or camera lens, RZA is considered prophetic to his community and perhaps a unicorn to mainstream culture. With a penchant for Eastern philosophy as is evident in the name Wu-Tang Clan and lyrical nods to Shaolin Kung Fu, RZA shared, “One thing I’m looking forward to doing in the near future… I’ve never been to India, and I have to check that one off,” referring to the top item on his bucket list. I recommended he connect with Indian author and yogi, Jaggi Vasudev, also known as Sadhguru, when he makes the trip. RZA is so well-read and well-versed, it felt novel giving him someone and something beyond his scope to Google.

Is Aaron Rogers Finally Leaving The Packers?

Aaron Rodgers walked off Lambeau Field feeling “gutted” after losing the NFC Championship Game for the fourth time in the past seven seasons and wondering about his future with the team.

“A lot of guys’ futures that are uncertain – myself included,” Rodgers said following the Green Bay Packers’ 31-26 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Wu-Tang Clan Sells Album for $2 Million

With a history of harnessing their own dynamic and fostering their own language, it was only a matter of time before they rocked the industry with futuristic thinking once again. This time in the form of a one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang Clan album that made it into the hands of a future felon for a whopping $2 million.

When news came out about a single copy album being dropped by none other than Wu-Tang Clan, fans were chomping at the bits to hear the exclusive content. The rap group has made an influential name for themselves in the music industry over the past 30 years, with songs like “Protect Ya Neck,” “C.R.E.A.M,” “Gold,” and many more.

Wu-Tang Clan dropped their single copy album on March 26th, 2014. According to an interview with Forbes that was reported by Scluzay, the exclusive release of their album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin came in response to “music [being] economically and experientially devalued in a world of superficial streaming and data consumption.”

Young Thug Says Jay-Z Doesn’t Have 30 Hit Songs

Young Thug was talking with Gillie Da Kid on the latter’s ‎Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast and the Atlanta rapper proceeded to jump out the window, figuratively. While bragging that he had 30 songs that would make the crowd go crazy at his shows in arenas, he then proceeded to add that “Jay-Z ain’t got 30 songs like that.”

Now Thugger said that with the utmost confidence. But the look on Gillie’s face said it all. But to be clear, the Philly rapper turned host also diplomatically added, “He got a lot, though.”

The tone, or maybe his thoughts catching up with what he just said, led Thug to walk back that wild statement instantaneously.

Jay-Z Nephew Accused Of Sexual Assault

The University of Washington has suspended its star guard on the basketball team due to two sexual assault allegations against him. With his last name being Carter, he won’t be the only one facing backlash for these accusations.

21-year-old Nahziah Carter, who is the nephew of Hip Hop/pop culture icon Jay-Z, violated UW’s school policy on sexual assault and his suspension has been upheld following his appeal. Carter was suspended indefinitely in October for the first accusation and received a suspension for the winter and spring quarters after the second investigation concluded.

Two women accuse Carter of forcing them to perform oral sex on him and one of his accusers even posted the findings of the investigation once it was public information.

Taylor Swift Is The Woman With The Most Hot 100 Hits

For the second time in 2020, Taylor Swift dominates both the Billboard 200 albums chart and the Hot 100 singles ranking simultaneously, as she debuts new titles atop both those lists (among many others). As if leading the charge on the two most important Billboard rosters wasn’t enough of a show of dominance, the singer-songwriter occupies more space on the songs tally than anyone else, and thanks to a slew of new wins, she grabs one of the most coveted honors ever from the most successful female rapper of all time.

This week, Swift debuts 15 songs on the Hot 100, an incredible showing for any artist, and one she’s managed before. Every song featured on her surprise new album Evermore finds its way to the ranking of the most-consumed tunes in the U.S., upping her count considerably.

With 15 new Hot 100 hits to her credit, Swift’s career sum rises to 128 total placements, enough to put her in fourth place on the list of the musicians who have appeared on the tally the most often. In stepping up on that important ranking, the former country favorite jumps over two acts, Future and Nicki Minaj, and it's the second name that helps the “Cardigan” singer make history in one more fashion.

Lil Pump Disses Eminem, Royce da 5'9" Responds

The holidays typically signal a time of spreading peace and joy, but Lil Pump is once again throwing all respectability and common sense out the window to stir up some end-of-year beef with Eminem

For some reason, the young Florida rapper decided to go after Slim Shady in a new Instagram video. On Christmas Eve, no less.

"F*ck Eminem, you is lame as hell, ain't nobody listening to your old ass,” the 20-year-old ranted. "You lame as f*ck, b*tch! I woke up on bullshit today, I'm back on my f*ck shit."

Jamie Foxx Talks 'In Living Color' and Jennifer Lopez

In Disney-Pixar’s latest gem Soul, Jamie Foxx voices Joe, an unfulfilled middle-school band teacher who finally gets his big break as a jazz musician — the same day he steps into a pothole and comes to in the spiritual form, desperate to escape the afterlife and return to his body.

The premise gave us an excuse to talk to the film’s star-studded cast about their own big breaks in show business, which thankfully did not include any potholes, though some still had some pretty low wages. (Watch above.)

For Foxx, it was auditioning for In Living Color at the famed Laugh Factory comedy club in West Hollywood, Calif.

Roc Nation Enters Book Publishing Company

A decade after publishing his memoir “Decoded,” Jay-Z is forming a more lasting partnership with the book industry. Upcoming book releases are set to include a “fantastical illustrated fiction” from Lil Uzi Vert and memoirs from Yo Gotti and Fat Joe.

Roc Nation, the entertainment company founded by the rapper, is starting an imprint with Random House called Roc Lit 101. In a joint announcement Tuesday, Random House and Roc Nation promised “books at the dynamic intersection of entertainment and genre-defying literature.” Among the initial releases for next summer: “Till the End,” a memoir by the retired pitching star CC Sabathia; and music journalist Danyel Smith’s “Shine Bright,” a story of Black women in music that combines memoir, criticism and biography.

On Friday, it was confirmed that Blue Ivy was nominated in the Best Music Video category for "Brown Skin Girl"—marking her first-ever nomination from the Recording Academy at just 8 years old. The song appeared on The Lion King: The Gift (Deluxe Edition) album and features vocals by Blue Ivy's mom, Beyoncé as well as SAINt JHN and WizKiD. Blue Ivy's contribution is heard in the intro.

Blue Ivy was not listed as a nominee when the nods were announced last month. However, the Recording Academy's website has since been updated to include her name. The "Brown Skinned Girl" visual is up against Future's "Life Is Good" featuring Drake, Anderson .Paak's "Lockdown," Harry Style's "Adore You," and Woodkid's "Goliath."

Who's Album Was Better? Jay-Z - The Blueprint or Nas - Stillmatic

The Jay-Z vs. Nas beef was a gladiatorial battle between two rap titans. For almost a decade, two of rap's most decorated emcees went at each other's throat.

At one point, they even took a poll about the beef, with 58% of listeners saying they preferred “Ether” to “Supa Ugly”. The consensus seemed to point to Nas as the winner. “Ether” has since become an emblematic diss track, with rappers reinterpreting it for their beef purposes.

Jay Z and Nas' feud was sparked over a Memphis Bleek lyric in 2000's 'My Mind Right', causing the rapper to respond to both Bleek and Jay Z on future mixtape tracks. The feud escalated further when Jay Z called Nas "lame" on 2001's 'The Takeover', prompting Nas to take aim at Jay on 'Ether'. The beef continued in this wild manner until they ended it publicly at the 'I Declare War' concert in Philadelphia in 2005.

Beyonce Gives HBCU Students Free Access

A spokesperson confirmed that the students' two-year memberships will start when they activate their account, which they can do at any time (note: it's unclear when access to the two-year membership offer will expire). Peloton also told POPSUGAR that it is the schools' responsibility to enroll their own students once the memberships are gifted, but there is no limit to how many students at each HBCU can receive a membership; students just have to be currently enrolled. If this applies to you, check directly with your school for information on how to sign up.

"Peloton and I both believe that the power of music can help uplift, motivate and inspire those on their fitness journeys," Beyoncé said in a statement. "I've been a Peloton member for several years, and I'm excited to partner with a company that helps people, young and old, be the best versions of themselves, in an innovative and adaptable way. I'm proud to celebrate the students at HBCUs with this donation, to encourage them to find and embrace their own wellness regimens."
