For years fans have heard artists cover songs, and at times the newer version is a bigger hit than the original. Beyoncé is no different, as she has covered a few songs throughout her career such as the Donny Hathaway and Roberta Flack duet, "The Closer I Get to You" and Rose Royce's hit song "Wishing on a Star."

Cover songs can be used to display creativity of a performers work through the talent of another artist's previous production.
