Even though Eastside Po was not mentioned in the article, he is next up on the rising artist list.

Were not saying that these are the best artist from Lima, Ohio, but I am noting that these are the artist who legacy will continue on through time.

In contrast with its East Coast, West Coast and Southern counterparts, Midwest hip hop has very few constants in style or production. Midwest hip hop's first dose of national popularity came in the mid-90s with the extremely fast-paced rappers known as Bone Thugs-n-Harmony (Cleveland), Twista (Chicago), Tech N9ne (Kansas City), Atmosphere (Minneapolis), and Eminem (Detroit).

But Ohio, in general, has a rich musical history that makes it one of the most important states when it comes to the evolution of sound in various genres. Everything from shock rock and industrial metal to funk and R&B developed in the Lima, Ohio area.

Hip Hop Is The New Disco

Remember in the 70's Era you had three types of music that was popular at the time was soul, funk and disco. Disco is more glitz and glamour style as what you see in today's hip hop world like Migo's for example, they the hip hop trio of today's currant rap that started the Migo flow from underground to rasing on the charts until now you hearing rappers even some known rappers is like rapping the same style.

So when people ask what do i think of today's hip hop like DMC from Run-DMC said he see's it as the new disco which is totally facts when you see the structure in between the two great eras.

Did Benny The Butcher Bring Real Rap Back

Every since rapper Nas did the album Hip Hop Is Dead that's when you saw hip hop/rap became more dumbed down than ever with more lack of commercial raps on the media or on radio stations, at the time real rap was unheard of unless if you was really a hip hop head that was looking for rap on mixtapes or searching on YouTube. In 2010 an empire of hip hop has begun and that's with Griselda Records with artists like Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine and Benny The Butcher.
When you hear songs like Legend, Forever Ft Lil Wayne and Big Sean, Roy Jones Ft Dark Lo,
and Crown For Kings Ft Black Thought.

Top 5 Most Lyrical Rappers Of All Time

Lyrics have always been the most important factor in hip hop music. From the early days in the 70s and 80s all the way until today, the most efficient way for a rapper to gain respect is to have bars.

People might say that lyrics matter less on hip hop these days than they did back in the 90s, and that may be true, but there’s no denying that there aren’t still some great lyricists around.

How Did Eazy-E Really Die?

I believe it's time for a new investigation to start in the death of late rapper Easy-E. It has been know for years that the rapper died of AIDS, but new evidence is emerging that states otherwise.

Without Eazy-E, the rap world might look substantially different today. In fact, we may have never heard of rappers like Dr. Dre and Ice Cube. And the trajectory of ‘gangsta rap’ would have been entirely different.

Kendrick Lamar Named "Greatest Rapper of His Generation"

Drake, J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar were three of the best-selling rappers of the 2010s. They released their debut albums in succession (2010, 2011, and 2012), and the age difference between the iconic emcees is only two years. Each of the thought-provoking recording artists has Grammy awards on their resume, with legions of fans who will vouch for their superiority as lyricists.

However, when it comes to the writers and editors at the New York Times, they have determined that Kendrick Lamar reigns supreme, which is an accomplishment considering that media outlets on the East Coast, whether they're hip-hop based, pop culture magazines or daily newspapers, have historically heaped such praise on rappers in their region, for the most part.
