Touring continues to play a crucial role in Taylor Swift’s road to the top. The Reputation Stadium Tour surpassed her own 1989 World Tour as the highest-grossing in the U.S., raking in $266.1 million domestically, according to Billboard Boxscore.

Taylor Swift begins the Lover era at No. 1 on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list, pulling in pretax income of $185 million over the past year, her biggest earnings total yet. Her estimated pay grew 131%, after clocking in at $80 million in 2018.

In 2018, Netflix brought the Reputation Stadium Tour to living rooms on New Years Eve, after acquiring the exclusive rights to the tour for a live concert special. The streaming giant’s payout and endorsement deals with Apple, AT&T and Diet Coke added millions to Taylor Swift’s coffers.

Taylor Swift Makes Generous Donation

Taylor Swift donated $113,000 to an LGBTQ organization called the Tennessee Equality Project (TEP) on Monday, April 8, and did it in classic Swift style — with a handwritten note.

The foundation’s executive director, Chris Sanders, took to Facebook to share news of the 29-year-old “Delicate” songstress’ generous contribution alongside a message of thanks.

“Dear Chris, I’m writing you to say that I’m so inspired by the work you do, specifically in organizing the recent petition of Tennessee faith leaders standing up against the ‘slate of hate’ in our state legislature,” Swift began her letter pictured in the post. “Please convey my heartfelt thanks to them and accept this donation to support the work you and these leaders are doing.”

Sanders captioned the post: “Taylor Swift has been a long-time ally to the LGBTQ community. She sees our struggle in Tennessee and continues to add her voice with so many good people, including religious leaders, who are speaking out for love in the face of fear. Tennessee Equality Project is honored and grateful to reveal Taylor Swift has made a donation of $113,000 to support our efforts at this critical moment.”

The Three Amigos Tour Hit Big Numbers

Drake and the Atlanta rap group Migos teamed up for a major show that did $79 Million in revenue. Drake and the Migos had one of the biggest tours of the year with their joint Aubrey and the Three Migos Tour.

The tour was a box office hit and entered the Top 10 highest grossing tours of North American in 2018. Drake reportedly left the run with $47M while Migos went three-way on the $24.5M earnings from the tour.

Universal Music Group Shuts Down Apple Music Exclusives

(The Wrap-Up Magazine) Apple’s iTunes, Lucian Grainge, CEO of Universal Music Group and widely regarded as the most powerful executive in the music industry, has reportedly ordered the company’s labels to stop the practice of making “exclusive” distribution deals with streaming services.

According to Bob Lefsetz, author of an influential music industry newsletter, Grainge sent out a company-wide email on Monday. UMG, which boasted seven of 2015’s 10 best-selling albums and 38.5% of the year’s recorded-music sales, will be the first major label to ban the practice, which many feel has begun to diminish rather than enhance the way music is distributed and consumed.

The directive will affect dozens of bands under the UMG umbrella, including all five of this year’s album of the year Grammy nominees: Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift, the Weeknd, Chris Stapleton and Alabama Shakes.

The practice of artists offering exclusives to competing streaming and download services, including Apple and Tidal, has been gaining traction this year. Both Beyoncé and Rihanna launched their recent albums through Tidal, the streaming service part-owned by Beyoncé’s husband, Jay Z.

Bieber's rock star attitude was scrutinized earlier in the year when he made it known that he would no longer sign autographs or take random selfies with fans in public. Those conditions would allegedly lead to his confrontation with a fan whose request for a signature he'd reject and would up exchanging blows with in Cleveland in early June.

Streaming Music Has Sold More Than CDs

I have not heard a soul in this world that say they dislike +Spotify. Even artist can +Get Your Music On Spotify now and days. The music industry is changing, with music streaming earning more money than the sale of CDs for the first time ever in 2014. According to the RIAA, music streaming earned a total of $1.87 billion in 2014, while CDs generated $1.85 billion, with the entire industry earning $6.97 billion overall, which was slightly down from their numbers in 2013.

Though these numbers are close, it’s clear that streaming is on the upswing while CDs are becoming a thing of the past, especially with Spotify records already getting shattered by Kendrick Lamar and Drake just three months into the year. Now all music streaming services needs is for Taylor Swift to get on board, and it’s a wrap.

However, according to Morgan, you can’t help but think that Kanye has a point after he does these things.  ”It was Taylor’s moment, and of course he should have let her enjoy it,” said Piers. “And yet, any dispassionate observer would have to agree he was also completely right; Beyonce’s sensational video for “Single Ladies (Put A Ring It)” blew Taylor’s “You Belong With Me” to smithereens,” he added. Similarly, Morgan believes Kanye had a point with his recent comments about Beck’s Grammy win for Best Album of the Year. ”And, frankly, if Beck did have an ounce of self-awareness about the cheesy guff he churns out, that’s exactly what he should have done,” said the former CNN news host.

Rumors are that +Sienna Miller was drunk at the +Oscars. Sienna Miller did not take it slow on Oscars weekend. First, Star spotted a drunken Sienna devouring a stack of cucumber slices at the bar of the Weinstein party. The next night, Sienna clumsily cozied up to boyfriend Tom Sturridge at the Vanity Fair Oscars bash.

I’ve read most of the tabloids this week, and the Oscars gossip has been pretty dull. Miranda Kerr bitched about the porto-potty situation and Chelsea Handler cut in front of a line. Taylor Swift cuddled up to Jamie King at the VF party and Khloe Kardashian was in a terrible mood at the Elton John party. Jennifer Lawrence was carrying a Slim Jim and a protein bar in her clutch because of course she was. And that’s about it. 

Except that on Monday, when I was covering the party photos, I mentioned that the Sienna Miller photos were making me laugh because Sienna had that old-school look in her eye – part boredom, part liquor, part famewhore. It just seemed like she regretted partying with her boyfriend Tom Sturridge and she wished she could be a single girl, mixing it up with all the men. +Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez reportedly had a big shake up at the birthday bash for +Selena Gomez. The "Heartbreaker" singer, 19, arrived at the gypsy-themed house party around 9 p.m., an eyewitness tells Us, dressed down in a black-and-green letterman jacket, dark jeans and white high-tops, with a small present for the birthday girl.
