What's Your Favorite Drake Track?

When it come to being a superstar, Drake has broken all the lines that can be broke. Drake gained recognition as an actor on the teen drama television series Degrassi: The Next Generation in the early 2000s.

Prince became one of Drake's longtime mentors after his son, Jas Prince, discovered the Toronto native on MySpace in 2006. Jas Prince introduced Drake to Lil Wayne and the Cash Money Records team, which eventually led to Drake signing with the music label.

"Best I Ever Had" peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming Drake's first top-ten single.

But it's fair to say that no other rapper of his generation has been as consistent, or as consistently good. So what is Drake's best song? Which song from Drake do you enjoy the most?

It was a hard decision for the Wrap-Up Magazine to choose there favorite track from Drake. After it was all said and done, "Hotline Bling" was that one song that just stood out from the rest. "Hotline Bling" is a song recorded by Canadian rapper Drake, which serves as the lead single from his fourth studio album Views (2016).

Drake Tops Elvis

Last night the Timeline may have been all shocked reactions and jokes at the expensive of Drake but today (May 30), Drake once again has laughed his way to the top 10 of the Billboard charts. The achievement moves the Hip-Hop titan pass Elvis Presley in the list of solo male acts with the most top 10 singles in history.

Appearing alongside Lil Baby on “Yes Indeed,” Drake finds himself at #6 on the charts and is his third single to do so this year. Drake now sits in the fourth spot among men chart toppers. Showing more chart dominance, Drake’s Instagram caption filled “Nice for What” returns to the number one spot on the Hot 100 chart.

Drake finds himself surrounded by elite artists and in an album’s reach of having the most Top 10s in history, a title that is currently held by Michael Jackson at 29 singles to Drake’s 26. Also ahead of Aubrey are Stevie Wonder and Elton John who are at 28 and 27 respectively. Before conquering Elvis, he passed Paul McCartney and Jay-Z.

The Billboard Hot 100 chart began on August 4, 1958. With the run Drake is on, and his Scorpion album scheduled to release sometime next month, it would not be surprising to see him dominate the male side of things by this August.

Drake Fires Shots At Kanye West

Beef between Drake and Kanye West seems to be brewing. In a new song snippet, which made its way around the internet on Tuesday (Sept. 4) and appears to be from a collaboration with French Montana, Drake can be heard throwing shade at Yeezy 305s.

Drake And Kanye Are Beefing Again

Bad blood between Drake and Kanye has been building since Drizzy's beef with Pusha-T earlier this year. Many assumed that Kanye gave Pusha-T the ammo aimed at Drake—airing out that he had a secret child and the mother was a porn star—something the Chicago rapper denied during a recent interview.

Rumors circulated over the weekend that Drake had an affair with Kanye's wife, Kim Kardashian, and a conspiracy theorist on Twitter wrote an impressive thread tying Drake's lyrics to the alleged affair.

Should Drake Be Considered One Of The Best Rappers Alive

Although Drake has not put himself in the list of one of the best rappers ever, we at The Wrap-Up Magazine is enlisting Drake due to the fact he is one of favorite artist that come off on the beat the way we like.

Just like Eminem, Gucci Mane, and Migos, Drake comes with some of the hardest punch lines the industry has to offer right now.

The 'Best Rapper Alive' title belt isn't passed from one MC to the next unless it's taken, convincingly. With that being said, has anyone saw how many records Drake has topped or even the numbers he pulls off at his show.

There have been great Drake songs and less-great Drake songs, and even some outright Drake clunkers. But it's fair to say that no other rapper has a style like him at all. The song marks Drake's 12th top 10 of 2018, lifting him over The Beatles for the most top 10s by any act in a single year.

Drake's Biggest Hit Is Sampled From Timmy Thomas

The 70's R&B song 'Why can't we live together' may be one of Drakes biggest hits as to date. The music teacher, whose 1972 song “Why Can't We Live Together” was sampled for Drake's hit “Hotline Bling,” hopes he will.

Originally released in 1972, Timmy Thomas’ peace anthem ‘Why can’t We Live Together’ is to get an official 12″ vinyl reissue after being sampled on Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’. The 2015 hit was built around Thomas’s stripped-back hook, made with just a Hammond organ and percussion from an early rhythm machine.

Thomas is happy about the way Drake went about clearing the sample explaining, “he did it the right way, he contacted my publishing company and contacted my writers. And so there’s nobody running.” “Why Can’t We Live Together” is a song about peace and Thomas is glad Drake didn’t use any of the original vocals to change the meaning of the song.

In an era where artists are constantly being sued over sampling in their music Timmy Thomas is glad Drake sampled his 1973 hit, “Why Can't We Live Together” in “Hotline Bling.”

Drake's massive "Hotline Bling" was not submitted, due to a clerical error on the part of label Cash Money. Drake did score five Grammy nominations in other categories, including best rap album for If You're Reading This It's Too Late and best rap song for "Energy."

Kanye West Calls Drake Out

A new beef is cooking up between Kanye and Drake. Kanye West went on a Twitter rant calling out Drake and adding further layers to the saga. Throughout the deluge of tweets, one thing was made clear and that was Ye wants an apology from Drake.

Kanye West brought the entire ordeal back to the fore by addressing Drake's son, while also getting on the "6 God" for "sneak dissing trav [Travis Scott] records," and reiterated that he would never intentionally hurt Drake.

Drake New Clothing Line

Rapper +Drizzy Drake has teamed up with +Calvin Klein for a new clothing line to be released during his European tour. Calvin Klein and Drake are set to reprise their collaborative relationship for Drake’s forthcoming European tour. Just like last year’s North American dates, Drake’s future stops across Europe will see the Canadian artist decked out in custom gear from the iconic American fashion house.

Designed by Calvin Klein creative director Italo Zucchelli, the new range contrasts last year‘s predominately blue hues with a more somber grey-based palette that includes sleeveless pullovers, denim jackets, graphic sweatshirts, jeans, and even a custom version of the “Obsession” sweatshirt from Klein’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection – complete with “Drake” emblazoned across the back. Drake’s 2014 European tour – dubbed “Would You Like A Tour?” and featuring The Weeknd – kicked off February 19 in Germany and will come to a close with a two-night stand at London’s O2 Arena on March 24 and 25.

Drake Drops Michael Jackson's Song From Tour

Sources tell TMZ Drizzy's removed the song "Don't Matter to Me" -- a "Scorpion" track featuring MJ's vocals -- from his setlist on the UK leg of his international tour.

Drake is leaving behind one of his biggest songs featuring Michael Jackson as he heads across the pond to tour -- and it's all because of "Leaving Neverland."

The Manchester show was the first of about a dozen more shows across the pond. Drake will make stops in London, Birmingham and Dublin before it's all said and done. No word on whether Drake actually believes the allegations against Michael -- our sources didn't speak on that one way or another.

Drake Is Launching a Luxury Candle Company

If you’ve ever seen inside Canadian rapper Aubrey Drake Graham's Toronto mansion, you already know that he's got impeccable taste. The sprawling 50,000 square-foot home boasts not only an NBA-sized basketball court with a pyramidal skylight, but a chandelier adorned with 20,000 pieces of hand-cut Swarovski crystal. It's "overwhelmingly high luxury," the 34-year-old told AD earlier this year.

While owning a property that exquisite might not be in the cards for most of us, bringing some of Drake's "overwhelmingly high luxury" energy into our own homes is. The Tootsie Slide artist has a new business venture up his sleeve and you're going to love the smell of this.

Order Your Luxury Scented Candle

An October Instagram post from women’s fashion brand, Revolve, revealed that Drake was starting his own luxury candle company, dubbed Better World Fragrance House. The caption noted that Revolve had partnered with this upcoming fragrance house to offer a sneak peek of the rapper's first ever candles.

Is Drake And Jennifer Lopez Dating? Rihanna Responds!

The singer, who dated Drake in a longtime on-again-off-again relationship, reportedly unfollowed Lopez on Instagram after this photo was posted. But it's still possible that the two aren't romantically involved at all.

Jennifer Lopez and Drake are keeping the dating rumors alive in this last week. The pair has been stoking the flames all month, starting with Drake's attendance of Lopez's "All I Have" concert residency in Las Vegas on Dec. 10.
Followers have been quick to note the two are currently single. Rihanna has been absent from Drake's accounts after a summer spent teasing their long-rumored romance. And news of Lopez's split with her longtime boyfriend, Beau "Casper" Smart, broke in August.

The are-they-aren't-they game is one frequently employed by Drake. In early November, followers also lost it over a similar scenario with Taylor Swift after the rapper posted pics with coy captions of the two together. And of course, there was the ultimate fan tease in the form of a speech at the VMAs for Rihanna that read like a long-awaited profession of love.

Funk Master Flex Say's Drake Is Better Than Jay-Z

While on IG Live, Funk Master Flex got into a debate with Gillie Da King about who the greatest rapper alive was and Flex revealed that it was Drake in his opinion.

“You know if those reference tracks never happened, Drake would have been my favorite artist of all time. He would’ve surpassed Jay-Z in my book.”

Gillie would jokingly say to Flex that he better get security because New Yorkers will lose their minds. Flex went on to further explain his point.

“If those reference tracks did not come out, Drake is the number one rapper of all time. Do not get it f**ked up. I would’ve said because he’s too versatile, his melodies, he had the bars and he had the songs. Drake is the number one singer right now?”

Drake Still Breaking Records

With Drake set to pick up where he left off as the undeniable king of music streams, with the release of his More Life playlist on Saturday, March 18, comes the timely announcement that the Toronto rap star is officially being recognized as the first artist to ever earn 10 billion streams on Spotify.

Drake's last studio album in and of itself accounts for a decent chunk of those plays, having topped 2 billion streams by its own merits. He's also got several heavy hitter singles that have helped him arrive at the remarkable plateau, including "Once Dance," which has 1 billion plays all on its own.

By now there is little doubt that his career corresponding with the rise of music's new system of consumer metrics, is becoming a theme synonymous with Drake's work. One year ago he released Views and benefited as all news Drake, on every platform from Instagram to Youtube and the bevy of hip-hop publications online indeed garnered the page clicks and impressions to give it one of the longest chart-topping streaks in Billboard history. Now comes his More Life project, which would likely have been called a mixtape only the year before last, but is being branded a "Play List," which in marketing terms legitimizes the music streaming business.

While Views was released as an Apple Music exclusive, Drizzy's camp announced this week that the new project will be streamed across platforms, which might actually empower it to dish units in a faster manner than Views did, although it doesn't have the power singles that the last album had, behind it. ["Hotline Bling" completely broke the internet and truly took meme/vine generated singles popularity to new heights].

While nobody sharing in the company of having 10 billion streams is quite an achievement, Drake has actually been Spotify's top guy for nearly a year already, ever since it was announced that he had surpassed Justin Bieber as the service's most streamed artist ever, back in May of 2016.

Drake's Leaving Young Money For Apple

Drizzy’s fifth studio album garnered more than 170 million streams on Apple Music. 10 of the most-streamed songs on the service came from Scorpion, which not only broke Drake’s own record, it was the most streams in a 24 hour period on any streaming service ever.

Birdman and Lil Wayne Now fighting Over Drake's Royalties

Soon after Birdman and Lil Wayne seemingly ended their beef, things might be reignited yet again.

In 2017, Aspire Music, co-founded by Lil Wayne's manager Cortez Bryant, sued Birdman over unpaid royalties from Drake's catalog. Birdman has responded with a countersuit that accuses Bryant and Lil Wayne of working with attorney Ronald Sweeney in an attempt to gain a larger share of Drake's profit.

Aspire claims they discovered Drake and are entitled to 1/3 share of profits from Drake's first six albums in addition to a share of copyrights. The remainder was to be split between Lil Wayne's Young Money and Birdman's Cash Money.

Birdman is seeking unspecified damages for fraud, aiding and abetting a breach of fiduciary duty and interference with contractual relations in the lawsuit. He also wants Aspire's lawsuit to be tossed.

Drake And Kanye Are Beefing Again

So, you probably know the back story already. But, Kanye West got on the radio with Kendra G and apologizes for the MAGA hat as well as the statement "slavery was a choice." It was actually "sounds like a choice to me," but who cares. Anyway, everybody is talking about Kanye saying sorry and crying. BUT we are NOT talking about Kanye calling Drizzy "insensitive" and denying that he helped Pusha T reveal that Drake was "hiding a son."

"I don't play like that, I don't play in that place. It ain't no beef. Ain't nobody got no beef. Nobody going to jail. I'm not calling nobody to do nothing," he said. "I don't do that. I make beats, I'm here for a reason. The universe is on my side."

"We all got love for Drake. We understand he was upset about it, and I felt it was insensitive of him to stress me out in any way after TMZ while I'm in Wyoming, healing, pulling all pieces together."

And last, but not least, Kanye said that Drake would send him the "devil" emoji and harass him.

It may seem like nothing to the commoner but that ain't true. He uses three sets of "666" and a devil emoji in a post and the LOL emoji in the aftermath of the interview. Most people agree this was a response without saying something. Drake is selling out show after show on tour, so its crazy that he took time to do this.
