Drake Is Launching a Luxury Candle Company

If you’ve ever seen inside Canadian rapper Aubrey Drake Graham's Toronto mansion, you already know that he's got impeccable taste. The sprawling 50,000 square-foot home boasts not only an NBA-sized basketball court with a pyramidal skylight, but a chandelier adorned with 20,000 pieces of hand-cut Swarovski crystal. It's "overwhelmingly high luxury," the 34-year-old told AD earlier this year.

While owning a property that exquisite might not be in the cards for most of us, bringing some of Drake's "overwhelmingly high luxury" energy into our own homes is. The Tootsie Slide artist has a new business venture up his sleeve and you're going to love the smell of this.

Order Your Luxury Scented Candle

An October Instagram post from women’s fashion brand, Revolve, revealed that Drake was starting his own luxury candle company, dubbed Better World Fragrance House. The caption noted that Revolve had partnered with this upcoming fragrance house to offer a sneak peek of the rapper's first ever candles.

What Songs Will Last A Lifetime To You?

Whether you listen to rap, dance, hip-hop, techno, country, jazz, rock-n-roll, or pop music, the Wrap-Up Magazine would like to know, what song last a lifetime to you?

Nielsen Music, the industry-standard information and sales tracking sector, released a mid-year report highlighting 2020's current most popular genre. Stats reveal hip-hop as America's favorite and most influential genre, so far.

If you’re a songwriter, I would think that longevity is something you strive for when writing a tune. You want your music to live on, especially if your career doesn’t. We love the nineties. The nineties gave us grunge and gangster rap as well as (unfortunately) a cringeworthy combination of the two.

Additionally, the 1990s gave us Nirvana, Beyonce, Oasis, Pearl Jam, Beck, The Fugees, Snoop Dogg, Green Day, and Smashing Pumpkins. The following decade is when pop truly took over, followed closely behind by rap. It’s when rock started to fade a bit despite stellar offerings from Kings of Leon and Green Day.

Drake's Biggest Hit Is Sampled From Timmy Thomas

The 70's R&B song 'Why can't we live together' may be one of Drakes biggest hits as to date. The music teacher, whose 1972 song “Why Can't We Live Together” was sampled for Drake's hit “Hotline Bling,” hopes he will.

Originally released in 1972, Timmy Thomas’ peace anthem ‘Why can’t We Live Together’ is to get an official 12″ vinyl reissue after being sampled on Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’. The 2015 hit was built around Thomas’s stripped-back hook, made with just a Hammond organ and percussion from an early rhythm machine.

Thomas is happy about the way Drake went about clearing the sample explaining, “he did it the right way, he contacted my publishing company and contacted my writers. And so there’s nobody running.” “Why Can’t We Live Together” is a song about peace and Thomas is glad Drake didn’t use any of the original vocals to change the meaning of the song.

In an era where artists are constantly being sued over sampling in their music Timmy Thomas is glad Drake sampled his 1973 hit, “Why Can't We Live Together” in “Hotline Bling.”

Drake's massive "Hotline Bling" was not submitted, due to a clerical error on the part of label Cash Money. Drake did score five Grammy nominations in other categories, including best rap album for If You're Reading This It's Too Late and best rap song for "Energy."

The Truth Behind Cash Money Vs No Limit Records Beef

Cash Money Records and No Limit Records were both two of the largest hip-hop powerhouses in New Orleans. What people don’t know is that the beef started before both camps really started blowing up.

Anybody that been a follower of deep dirty south music knows about the history or the turf rivalry that been going on between Cash Money and No Limit Records.

What Happened To Fetty Wap?

Fetty Wap was once hip-hops hottest artist. His break out hit “Trap Queen” in 2015 peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 list and he was thought to be a one-hit wonder.

“My Way” was another certified banger and put people on notice that maybe fetty was not a one-hit wonder. The industry took notice as well and soon, raps biggest superstar, Drake would cosign Fetty.

In 2016 Fetty’s momentum kept going and he had many feature spots and some more singles such as “Jimmy Choo” and “Wake Up,” which were popular, but not chart breaking.

It wasnt until a feature on Tekashi 6ix9ine’s “KEKE” with A Boggie wit da Hoodie that got people talking about “Fetty being back.”

What's Your Favorite Drake Track?

When it come to being a superstar, Drake has broken all the lines that can be broke. Drake gained recognition as an actor on the teen drama television series Degrassi: The Next Generation in the early 2000s.

Prince became one of Drake's longtime mentors after his son, Jas Prince, discovered the Toronto native on MySpace in 2006. Jas Prince introduced Drake to Lil Wayne and the Cash Money Records team, which eventually led to Drake signing with the music label.

"Best I Ever Had" peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming Drake's first top-ten single.

But it's fair to say that no other rapper of his generation has been as consistent, or as consistently good. So what is Drake's best song? Which song from Drake do you enjoy the most?

It was a hard decision for the Wrap-Up Magazine to choose there favorite track from Drake. After it was all said and done, "Hotline Bling" was that one song that just stood out from the rest. "Hotline Bling" is a song recorded by Canadian rapper Drake, which serves as the lead single from his fourth studio album Views (2016).

Inside Cash Money's Vault

Birdman and Slim founded Cash Money in their native New Orleans to serve as a home for hip-hop. After initially following the “hustler” footsteps of their father, Slim says, they decided to try making a living in music.

Early recruits included producer Mannie Fresh and rapper Pimp Daddy, but their best investment was an 11-year-old wordsmith who called himself Shrimp Daddy—later, Lil Wayne. Drake and Nicki Minaj followed, propelling Cash Money into the 21st century. Forbes' Zack O'Malley Greenburg dives into the label's past.
