Through his Uninterrupted media platform, LeBron James has enabled a glimpse into the lives of pro-athletes, as told by the athletes themselves. Now Uninterrupted is linking up with JPMorgan Chase to unleash an online series which will spotlight the topic of money management by profiling sports stars and what their ups and downs have looked like since coming into wealth.

Green is actually scheduled as the first man up in the series. In episode one, the Golden State Warriors star recalls living off of an $850,000 salary without the help of advisers, in his rookie season. "I said I'm gonna do this on my own. I want to learn how to pay bills. I want to learn how money works," Green says, before sharing a recollection of a night in which he spent more than he had ever imagined he'd allow himself to spend out clubbing. "I had a blast for sure. I could've had a blast for $4,000 though," he said. "I woke up the next day hot like 'What?!' I mean that's $21,000 I can never get back. ... I still remember. I remember that bill."

The series is set to air on the Uninterrupted and Chase websites, and will be hosted by longtime friend and partner of James, Carter, whom also happens to have co-founded Uninterrupted and oversees its operations as CEO. "You never hear the stories behind the decision making," Carter said about the series. By-Wear launches its Essential Eminem series vintage tees

Eminem enjoys an undue level of support across the globe. Japan is especially fond of Slim Shady, it seems; it apparently wasn’t enough that one brand was creating high-end remakes of Em’s vintage tees because another basics specialist has now tossed its hat in the ring as BY-WEAR launches its ESSENTIALS Eminem series.

Apparently unrelated to the prior effort by Insonnia Projects, BY-WEAR’s time-consuming shirt, sweater and hoodie designs nevertheless share quite a bit of overlap in the designs it has elected to reprint. There’s The Marshall Mathers LP, Slim Shady LP The Eminem Show and even Anger Management tour designs on hand, but BY-WEAR has also included a few new selections, which include an old promo shot in front of a car and the cover art of Em’s divisive Revival. To further distinguish the shirts, they feature smaller iterations of the printed graphics.

Wayne sat down for a chat with Lil Baby as part of Rolling Stone‘s Musicians On Musicians interview series. Throughout the conversation, Wayne opens up about some of his musical influences and named Hov’s fourth studio album as his biggest inspiration:

Jay-Z, Life And Times Of Shawn Carter, plain and simple. It was the first album where I actually [bought] the car that the rapper was talking about. That was my album. […] Also, Jay talked so crazy. He went bananas on that album. I got lyrics from the album tattooed on me and sh*t. I have songs that are remakes of spinoffs of songs from that album.”

Lord of the Rings Franchise Selling For $2 Billion

The Saul Zaentz Company currently owns rights to the universe and characters created by J.R.R. Tolkien or almost all of 'em, anyway and has since 1976, but it's now reportedly ready to sell for at least $2 BILLION This might sound a little confusing, because as you know Warner Bros. (through ownership of New Line Cinema) made Peter Jackson's enormously profitable 'Rings' trilogy from the early 2000s, and 3 'Hobbit' films in the 2010s.

Amazon is getting ready to roll out its "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" series on Prime. SZC has been battling WB over its share of profits from the 6 films, and reportedly believes it's reclaimed the movie rights because WB hasn't developed any new projects since 2014's 'Battle of the Five Armies.'

Dr. Dre TV Series Rejected

Dr. Dre
Dr. Dre's TV plans hit a bump in the road. On Saturday (Sept. 22), the Wall Street Journal reported that Vital Signs, which is a semi-autobiographical drama Dre produced for Apple, was rejected by Apple CEO Tim Cook for being too violent.

Apparently Cook saw the six-episode series himself before telling Interscope Cofounder and current Apple exec Jimmy Iovine that the show featured too much violent content. In addition to gun violence, the show also includes scenes with cocaine use and at least one orgy. Neither Dre nor Cook have spoken about the show's apparent rejection.

Vital Signs was originally announced back in the winter of 2016 and it's been revealed that Michael K. Williams, Sam Rockwell and Ian McShane were stars on the show. At the time, it was reported that each episode of the series was supposed to be "focusing on a different emotion and how Dre's character deals with it."

We may not be getting to see Vital Signs, but at least more of Dre's handy work will make its way into the world soon.

How to build a team of experts to support your DIY music career

There’s a lot that goes into building a music career if you’re going to make money with music. Fortunately, “do-it-yourself” doesn’t mean “do-it-alone.” In fact, there’s no longer a singular music industry, instead, there are industries around music. These industries offer solutions and expertise that, not long ago, only a music label could handle. Today, you can leverage these services and resources to offload work to a team of experts that you normally would have to do yourself. In this multi-article series, we’re going to explain all the major music business roles, the work each role performs, why what they do is helpful for your career, and give you options to outsource the work or empower you to do-it-yourself.

DIY is a team sport

If there’s one thing we hear from musicians once they find out what it takes to sustain a career in music, it’s, “There’s too much to do! How can you handle it all?” Musicians need to handle distribution, engage in social media, manage merch sales, book shows, perform live, produce and promote videos, pursue music licensing, and so much more. And that doesn’t even take into account making the music in the first place.

But instead of trying to get it all done alone, your success will come from prioritizing what you work on, focusing on one thing at a time, and delegating. In fact, the most successful musicians we’ve interviewed do the following:

Lawsuit Dismissed Against Jay-Z & Meek Mill

Jay-Z and Meek Mill have reportedly settled a lawsuit with a Philadelphia police officer who sued both of them along with Roc Nation after a depiction of her in the 2019 Amazon original doc ‘Free Meek.’

The documentary spoke on Meek’s incarceration, and how the rapper shifted his focus on calling out the injustices of the U.S. prison system and criminal justice system in Philadelphia. Crooked police officers in Philly were highlighted as well, but it was revealed that one of the officers—Saqueta Williams, was reportedly proven to be innocent of any wrongdoing as a cop. Williams ultimately sued Roc Nation, Jay-Z, and Meek for invasion of privacy and defamation as a result after she was labeled as a crooked police officer.
