What If You Had The Chance To Meet Guns N' Roses?

Guns N' Roses' debut album, Appetite for Destruction, reached number one on the Billboard 200 a year after its release. Is there any song that sums up the essence of Guns N' Roses more?

Although Guns N' Roses didn't officially break up, lead guitarist Slash left in 1996, Matt Sorum was fired in 1997 and bassist Duff McKagan quit later that year. Rose became a recluse, sequestered away at his home in Malibu.

As various members of Guns N' Roses began to encounter serious problems with drugs, namely heroin, Axl Rose decided to give the band an onstage ultimatum during a 1989 opening slot with the Rolling Stones.

What's Your Favorite Guns N Roses Track?

Mainstream hard rock wasn't the same after the members of Guns n' Roses sank their teeth into it. During its late '80s and early '90s heyday, Guns n' Roses perpetually teetered on the brink of chaos and threatened to implode.

Guns n' Roses' penchant for chaos and unpredictable behavior grew in proportion with its popularity; in fact, this was part of its charm. But despite hard rock tendencies and an off-putting attitude, the band had deep respect for tradition.

Unfortunately, the stress and tension that came with global superstardom—and distractions ranging from various members' substance abuse issues to notorious concert riots in St. Louis and Montreal —took their toll.

Axl Rose is worth $200 million as of 2018, putting him nearly on par with modern day superstar Kanye West. Unlike many of today's musicians, who make money from acting and endorsement deals, most of Rose's earnings are from album sales and touring.

"Knockin' On Heaven's Door" is the most loved song from Guns N Roses selected by members of the Wrap-Up Magazine. What's Your Favorite Guns N Roses Track? Comment or share this article. Lets get more involved.

Guns N' Roses Still Reaches More Than 5 Million Fans

Guns N' Roses
Guns N' Roses' Not in This Lifetime reunion tour with Slash and Duff McKagan continues to produce incredible figures in testimony of GNR's rarified place in rock and roll history.

The tour has made a little over 140 stops at arenas, stadiums and festivals around the world since kicking off in 2016. All those shows mean GNR has performed for some 5 million people over the last two years, reports Live Nation.

Earlier this summer, Guns N' Roses broke Metallica's record for concert attendance in Sweden and became the most-viewed band on YouTube to come out of the '80s or '90s.

The tour is coming to an end this December as the band takes its bows in cities in Asia and the Pacific.

After that, everybody but Slash will take a vacation, then the band is expected to consider putting some new music together.

GNR's most recent release was the Locked N' Loaded special edition box set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its groundbreaking debut album, Appetite for Destruction, which rocketed back into the top 10 on the album charts this past summer.

The band's last new music release was 2008's Chinese Democracy, or what Slash has referred to as "Axl's album."

#MusicVideosWeLove Guns N' Roses - November Rain

“November Rain” is based on the short story “Without You”, written by Del James and published in his book “The Language of Fear” a few years later. The story is basically about a rock star, grieving over the death of his girlfriend, who had committed suicide.

November Rain remains one of Guns N' Roses' undisputed masterpieces and one of rock's greatest ballads. Over one billion people have now watched it on YouTube and counting. The nine-minute clip, dating from 1992, was at the time, one of the most expensive music videos ever made.

Has Rock-N-Roll Always Been Apart Of Hip-Hop Culture?

Yes Hip Hop has always been apart of the Rock culture! Rock and Rap song were some of the best ever made still today! For an institution that is dedicated to immortalizing rock and roll’s greatest heroes, there are many inductees in there who are not quite typically thought of as rock artists.

You’ve got Grandmaster Flash, Run-DMC, Miles Davis, Madonna, and Tupac in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The confusion behind these inductees lies not with the quality of their work, but rather the categorization of it.

There are four other artists who have been nominated but have yet to be inducted—Afrika Bambaataa, LL Cool J, Eric B. and Rakim, N.W.A—and four more groups who have been considered for the ballot but who have not yet been nominated—Boogie Down Productions, De La Soul, the Sugarhill Gang, and the Treacherous Three.

Name Your Favorite Kiss Song

Rock N Roll is making a big splash on the Wrap-Up Magazine. This time Fans Favorite brings in the famous band Kiss into the category. KISS can easily be named one of rock's most influential bands.

More gold records than any American band. Kiss might be the Hottest Band In The Land™, but there's always more to learn from there fans. From their first days together, KISS supposedly created an image linked to Nazis, Satan, and blood. That image has become a marketing juggernaut and demonstrates why people are split when it comes to the KISS rock and roll legacy.

To some, KISS is known for their outrageous outfits, makeup, and antics - everything from Gene Simmons's tongue action to on-stage blood-spewing and fire-breathing - aspects which reach far beyond their music.

While the band hasn't had a hit since the late 1970s, they continue to sell merchandise and profit from their connections with the Prince of Darkness.

What is the truth when it comes to KISS and their hardcore rock and roll lifestyle? What do fans have to say about Kiss? Do you have a favorite song you have payed the most?

When it comes to Eminem, what song is greater than 'Stan? '"Stan" has been called one of Eminem's best songs and is considered one of his signature songs. But do you know the true reason behind the song? Lets find out!

Rapper Eminem and pop legend Elton John have shared a close friendship since first coming together for a duet of Eminem's song "Stan" at the 2001 Grammys.

As many industry observers expected, news of Eminem’s Grammy honors (even before the duet announcement) triggered a storm of protest from activist groups such as the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), which released a statement saying that it was ”appalled that John would share the stage with Eminem, whose words and actions promote hate and violence” against gays and lesbians.

Apple And Dr. Dre

+Apple iPhone and iPad Apps, News and Updates and new music mogul +Dr Dre both have a new bio. Now that Apple has officially purchased Beats Music and Beats Electronics, we are left to ponder its broader meanings as the man who once rapped about gangbanging and reefer now becomes a high-profile Apple employee. I believe the deal symbolizes the possible end of an era: an end to Apple as an innovative brand, and a farewell to Dr. Dre as a music maker.

The acquisition is widely viewed as Apple playing catch-up to streaming services such as Spotify and Pandora. Apple’s own press release stressed the importance of Beats Music. As a sign of respect for the Beats brand (and lack of belief in its own), Apple will keep the subscription Beats Music intact, alongside Apple’s own iTunes Radio. Beats Music has hardly taken the world by storm as a streaming competitor to Spotify and Pandora since being launched in January 2014. But Apple Insider reports that the service has a strong conversion rate, with the vast majority of tracks being streamed by paying customers. Meantime, iTunes, which relies on a download model, has seen its sales slump as consumers latch on to streaming services. iTunes Radio, Apple’s answer to streaming, has yet to take hold.

Mark Zuckerberg was riding the momentum of a business built off one compelling idea, that as naturally social creatures, human beings would flock to a digital place where we could emulate our offline social behaviors online. But on top of the core innovation of launching Facebook, Zuckerberg’s massive wealth, and Facebook’s phenomenal growth, was built off pedestrian advertising programs and ongoing tweaks to the core product as opposed to anything newsworthy.
Today Facebook seems to be setting the pace by buying into innovation. And now Apple, having failed to capture our imagination with daring new products in the post-Jobs era, is following Facebook’s lead by doing the same. Earlier this year, Facebook announced the purchase of messenger service WhatsApp for $19 billion, thus acquiring the most popular messaging app for smartphones and a potential rival. Within weeks, Facebook announced another major acquisition, this time shelling out $2 billion for virtual reality firm Oculus. The two acquisitions were but the latest in a long list of examples of Zuckerberg using cash, not innovation from within, to grow.

Under the Tim Cook era, the Apple brand has gradually lost its luster in the innovation department, with the iPad Mini and iPhone 5 coming across as marginal product enhancements as opposed to the major breakthroughs in design and functionality that once disrupted entire industries. Meantime, Apple has complemented its product enhancements with acquisitions: PrimeSense, an Israeli 3D sensing company, Embark, a mapping company, and now Beats.

Even during the Steve Jobs glory years, Apple’s innovations were not always homegrown. For instance, Apple’s own GarageBand app was fueled by the acquisition of Nothing Real and Shake, and of course Apple purchased Jobs’s own NeXT Computer. But the acquisitions contributed to in-house innovations, whereas acquisition seems to be Apple’s sole innovation strategy today.

Dre has come along way since he helped introduced American music fans to the rough, brutally violent gangsta rap genre during his days with NWA in the early 1990s. Through his own music recordings, production work, and business operations, he’s created a legacy of a hybrid artist and music mogul. He helped popularize (and shape) the music of huge hip-hop stars such as Eminem and Snoop Dogg through his studio collaborations, and in the 1990s, he released two stunning albums of his own material, The Chronic and The Chronic 2001. If his music was frequently X-rated, it was also innovative, powerful, and critically acclaimed. But in the 2000s, he released not a single album’s worth of music although he was said to be working on the long-awaited Detox, which has yet to materialize. Instead he focused on production, collaborating frequently with his alter ego Eminem, 50 Cent, and a slew of other artists.
But his biggest production occurred in 2008 with the rollout of Beats by Dr. Dre headphones, a high-end, expensive product that made headphones sexy. With his focus shifting toward building the Beats brand with co-founder Jimmy Iovine, his production work diminished. Detox has become rap’s answer to Guns ‘n Roses’s Chinese Democracy: forever in production, never released. Rappers such as Game question whether Detox will ever be released.

Johnny Casini (@JohnnyCasini) - "Dark Sunglasses"

Johnny Casini was born 26 years ago in Correggio (Italy). His parents directed him towards musical studies, specifically classical guitar, when he was five years old. At the age of 13 he started his first experiences with his friends/musicians studying electric guitar. His main influences in this artistic phase were classic international rock (Beatles, Rolling Stones, Guns and Roses) and more recent Brit Pop bands (Oasis, Verve, Kasabian), all leading to the publication of his first self-produced demo of original songs, “For a New Death”, in 2014. In that same year, during a concert promoting that first release, Johnny met the producer and manager Claude Ismael (Youssou N’Dour, Kool & The Gang, Rita Marley, Barry White, Frank Zappa, The Cure) who was blown away by his talent, his compositional technique, and his strong personality. Claude Ismael convinced Johnny to actively embark on a musical career, offering him to executive produce his first real album. Johnny has since begun a new life, abandoning his university studies in chemistry and leaving Italy in 2015 to spend a year in London under the supervision of renowned musician and producer Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music, David Gilmour, David Byrne, Brian Eno, Pink Floyd, Annie Lennox, et al). This period has been a tough time for Johnny, who started pre-production of his album with a number of excellent musicians including Gus Robertson (Razorlight), Javier Weyler (Stereophonics), Michael Boddy (Bryan Ferry & Roxy Music), Paddy Milner (Todd Sharpville), and Yaron Stavi (Richard Galliano, Robert Wyatt, David Gilmour). Far from his family and loved ones, living with music 24/7, Johnny has grown both as a person and as an artist, pouring his feelings and the emotions drawn from the incredible experiences of this long period into his compositions. Upon completing the recording sessions of his first album, “Dark Shadows of White Lies” a perfect mix of British and American influences, from Southern rock to British indie and soul ballads, in 2017 Johnny Casini travelled to California with Claude Ismael to start a new adventure alongside musical director Keri Lewis (Mint Condition, Toni Braxton), in preparation of his album launch in the US and later on in Europe. After years of hard work, the release of Johnny Casini’s first single, “Dark Sunglasses”, is planned for November 2018. Johnny Casini is a star in the making be on the look out for more music from Johnny Casini.
