Facebook Acquires Instagram

Instagram has become an immensely popular platform for young people. It's also been a bright spot for Facebook amid a tumultuous time for that platform, which is grappling with fake news, foreign election meddling and privacy issues. It's unclear what Instagram's future will look like without the original duo at the helm.

Instagram founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger are out. Now the question is what happens to the business they started, and what that will mean for its owner, Facebook.

"One of the key hallmarks of Instagram has been its independence and uniqueness from Facebook. The founders closely guarded that," said Debra Aho Williamson, principal analyst at eMarketer.

Facebook Video Views Grows

Bloomberg reported that Systrom and Krieger are departing because of tensions with CEO Mark Zuckerberg over the direction of Instagram. According to Bloomberg's sources, Instagram could become more integrated with Facebook now that the co-founders are leaving.

With Systrom and Krieger gone, Williamson says it could be more challenging for Instagram to maintain that independence, especially if Zuckerberg installs his own executives to lead Instagram now.

Instagram Releases New Video Photo Sharing Service

That doesn't have to be a bad thing, even for users who prefer Instagram to Facebook. There are some popular features on Facebook that Instagram may be able to adapt. In fact, it's already done this by adding tools like messaging, the ability to mute users and indications showing whether someone is online. It also allows users to post Instagram photos to Facebook, and prompts users to add their Facebook friends on Instagram.

Now that summer is out and the winter holidays are here, let's take time to reflect on all the toned-up beach bodies this year we all encountered. Celebrities put their best bikinis — and boardshorts — forward this summer as they sunned, swam and swanned around hot spots from South Beach to St. Barts.

But while celebs such as J.Lo and Halle Berry basked in beach glory, others committed fashion crimes in paradise like Mariah Carey and so on. Between their envy-inducing abs and super-toned stems, these celebrities are bringing the heat.

Young Thug Changes Album Title

I still lost all respect for +Young Thugga only due to the fact of whats going on with +Birdman and +Lil Wayne. Young Thug has renamed his upcoming album to the Barter 6. In addition to switching the title, Thugga took to Instagram to announce that his first show, following the album’s release, will be in Hollygrove, Louisiana.

Young Thug is referring to the same Hollygrove neighborhood in New Orleans, Lil Wayne and Mack Maine grew up in. “YSL Carter 6 coming out Friday. First show, New Orleans, Hollygrove fuck nigga, meet me there, better yet beat me there,” Thug says in a new Instagram video, as two men stand behind him waving firearms. Just a few days later, Thug uploaded a video to Instagram that features various clips of him performing while a woman narrates what seems to be shots at Wayne and his imprint.

The “New Atlanta” rapper has been using his Instagram account to fuel his feud with Lil Wayne. After Wayne urged fans to “stop listening to songs of niggas who pose naked on their motherfucking album covers,” Thug responded by saying, “I understand that Lil Wayne is frustrated about his career and I feel him on that, but this is my idol. I would never in my life swap words with him or beef with him about nothing. This is a person that I look up to. Ha Ha.”
