Why Redd Foxx Quit 'Sanford & Son'

Redd Foxx would break records as Fred Sanford on 'Sanford & Son' for 6 seasons. Despite the show's success there appeared to be drama on the back end which resulted with Redd Foxx quitting the show.

After season six ended in March of 1977, Foxx accepted an offer from ABC to host a variety show and quit Sanford And Son. When NBC rejected Demond Wilson's request for a raise to continue without Foxx, he too decided to leave, taking the lead in the CBS sitcom Baby, I'm Back.

Why Is Scareface The Most Loved Movie In Hip-Hop Culture?

The movie Scareface has been a huge staple in the hip hop community. Even rapper Jay-Z has dedicated countless rap lyrics and interludes to the film. The release of Scarface coincided with the rise of hip hop music.

The hip-hop community has single-handedly made the movie a cult classic. Even though the story of Tony Montana, a poor Cuban immigrant who quickly ascends through the ranks to become a drug kingpin, is actually a remake of a 1932 film of the same name.

Will Smith To Exec-Produce ‘The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air’ Reboot

Will Smith has signed on as executive producer for a dramatic reboot of his ’90s sitcom, “The Fresh Prince of Bel- Air.” Morgan Cooper will co-write and direct the project, after he created a 2019 trailer for the concept that went viral and caught Smith’s eye.

The show’s reportedly being shopped to streaming outfits. Ever wonder what The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air might look like if it suddenly returned to the airwaves in 2019? Well, given Hollywood’s current penchant for giving everything a “dark” and “gritty” backstory, it would probably look quite a bit like this superbly made fan film by director Morgan Cooper. Simply titled Bel-Air, it gives Will Smith’s young “Will” a considerably more dire origin story while keeping all of the major Fresh Prince beats intact.

What Part Of The Movie "South Central" Did You Love The Most?

South Central is a 1992 American crime-drama film. It was one of the greatest hood movies made during my time. The movie is based on Crips in south central L.A. It was written and directed by Steve Anderson, who has served time, and whose view of prison life has a particular authenticity.

Movie Plot:

During a 10-year sentence for murdering the leader of a rival South Central Los Angeles gang, Bobby Johnson (Glenn Plummer) finds religion and rehabilitation with the help of Muslim inmate Ali. Upon his release, Bobby returns home to find that his young son, Jimmie (Christian Coleman), has joined the Deuces, his old crew. Tensions rise as Bobby struggles to convince Jimmie to leave the gang that was his only family during the painful years his absent father spent behind bars.

Jennifer Lopez's "Hustlers" Breaks Major Box Office Records

Hustlers has become their third release to gross over $100 million at the domestic box office. Hustlers has now sold more tickets than Goodfellas.

Lorene Scafaria’s acclaimed black comedy about women (Constance Wu, Jennifer Lopez, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, etc.) doing crime is more successful than Martin Scorsese’s acclaimed black comedy about men (Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, etc.) doing crime.

A handful of New York strippers who use their wiles (and some light drugging) to con their rich clients out of copious legal tender in the aftermath of the 2009 Wall Street crash, has earned 3x its $33 million opening weekend. The $20 million flick has also earned $125 million worldwide. For better or worse, it is only the second female-directed movie of the year to cross $100 million, after Captain Marvel.
