(The Wrap-Up Magazine) Filter was founded in the beginning of 2007 as a result of the revolt to the current state of the music industry. We think that music should not be pigeonholed and genre categories should not exist. There are only two types of music: good and bad.

They are looking for sad love songs, lyrically revolving around the themes of a relationship gone wrong, forbidden fruit, guilt, betrayal and trying again. The musical direction is something between Singer Songwriter and Indie Rock.

They accept ONE-STOP submissions only, ie songs that you own or control 100% (writer, master and publisher). Please submit only professionally recorded and mastered songs. NO DEMOS, NO COVERS. 1. Call around and ask independent clothing lines to back you up. There are millions of clothing lines out there. There is no excuse not to have a clothing backer. I guarantee you will find one to agree to pay you at least $100-$500 to wear their gear in your video.

2. If you have a music video coming out, please do yourself a favor and start a crowdfunding account. Your fans that love your music will be sure to back you up.

3. There was once a time where VEVO accounts were only for signed artists of Universal Music. Now, the portal has successfully been opened for all artists to use VEVO to make money from plays, royalties and ads. You can also partner up directly with YouTube if you create a lot of video content on top of your music videos.

4. Always make sure the description of you music video has a download link where people can purchase the song or the video. Yes, if you have a really dope video with great appeal, you can sell the actual video on iTunes as well.

5. If you can guarantee a certain amount of views, you can include a short 15 second commercial for a company or product in your music video. These commercials should go in the beginning and the end of the video. That allows you to sell two commercial spaces.
