Is R. Kelly Arrest All About Money? Or Is It The Operation?

R. Kelly and his wife have sparred over cash and custody of their three children on a regular basis since their divorce was finalized in 2009, with the courtroom battles largely shielded from public view since records were sealed in 2013.

R. Kelly and his ex-wife, Andrea Kelly, have seldom agreed on how or what the R&B star ought to pay on his divorce settlement, records released Monday show. A judge last week ordered that Kelly’s files be made public “just like anyone else” after media organizations petitioned the court following Kelly’s three-day stint in the Cook County Jail in March for non-payment of some $160,000 in child support.

Case records show that the singer was ordered to pay his ex-wife more than $30,000 a month as part of the divorce settlement — with $10,000 per month designated as a “maintenance” payment for Andrea Kelly that would remain in effect until January 2019. The maintenance payment was removed in 2013, after Andrea Kelly remarried. In November of that year, R. Kelly paid $113,000 to settle a back child support amount.

“Robert has gone to great extents to shelter his income and assets and, upon information and belief, to place certain income and assets in the names of others,” they wrote.

Four months later, R. Kelly’s attorneys said the singer “has a tax liability of over $7 million.” By August 2013, they said, the singer had paid his wife $1.48 million.

Also last week, the singer was hit with federal child pornography, obstruction of justice and racketeering charges by the U.S. attorney’s offices in the Northern District of Illinois and Eastern District of New York.

Ways to Save Money on Your Mortgage

It’s hard to believe the Flex Modification Program actually exists when you hear that many  Americans could reduce their monthly payments by as much as 20%. If you’re struggling to make your mortgage payments, find out if you can benefit from this program by contacting your mortgage company.

Americans agree that refinancing with Freddie Mac Flex Modification saves money, and not surprisingly banks are on edge about it.

If you are not currently at risk of delinquency and foreclosure but could use some relief from high mortgage payments, refinancing may be your best option. Lowering your rate or adjusting your term can put money back in your pocket each month.

If lowering your payments and shaving years off your mortgage would help you, it’s vital that you act now. We were surprised that you may even take some cash out of your home when refinancing to use however you need it.

Many Americans borrow from their 401k to help with unexpected bills which can set them back years in reaching their retirement savings goals. Forget borrowing from your 401k – refinance and borrow from your home to get cash to pay bills, renovations, your child’s education, or any other big investments.

As the Fed changes rates, new opportunities to save may be available for you even if they were not in the past.   The Fed wants to boost the economy and often that means cutting rates and putting money back in your pocket to go out and spend.

The good news is there are services that could help you save time and money by comparing multiple lenders at once. One such service is LendingTree, which has one of the biggest lender networks in the nation to provide consumers with a comprehensive set of mortgage options.

Lil Wayne Sues Former Lawyer

The rapper is suing Ronald Sweeney, an attorney who represented him from 2005 until 2018, for overcharging him during their 13 years working together, reports TMZ. According to docs obtained by the website, Lil Wayne claims that Sweeney was charging him 10 percent for every deal he helped close, even though industry standard is 5 percent.

In addition to overcharging Lil Wayne, the rapper also accused his former lawyer of trying to get even more money out of him. The docs claim that Sweeney, by enlisting the help of another firm, allegedly got himself an extra 23 percent from Wayne’s multimillion-dollar settlement with Cash Money Records and extra 15 percent from his settlement with Universal Music Group.

Wayne is seeking at least $20 million, according to TMZ.

How Master P Survived A Decade Of Music

When Master P first entered the music industry, it was never about music. Percy Miller is a business man all the way around the board.

The No Limit Soldiers kept the music industry on lock by releasing new content every month. Upon arrival with his debut album "Bout It Bout It" Master P had the largest movie and soundtrack surfacing during that time.

Back in 2014, in an interview with VladTV, Master P recently claimed to have sold as many as 75 million albums during his tenure with No Limit Records. Having gained immense popularity in his musical career, Master P is also the CEO of P. Miller Enterprises. As of 2018, Master P's net worth is roughly $250 million.

Master P and the No Limit Soldiers was the hottest rap group until Cash Money records hit the scene to slow down their record sales. Master P created a hip-hop empire without registering on any mainstream radar. For several years, he operated solely in the rap underground.

Beginning in the early 1990s, the New Orleans native dominated the landscape for much of the decade with a staggering amount of product. Although many associate P with The Big Easy, he established the No Limit brand in Northern California.

Shifting the label to New Orleans, P signed Mystikal, Kane & Abel, Mia-X, the late Soulja Slim and former Death Row artist Snoop Dogg.

It wasn’t all music with Master P, as the mogul’s film company continues to release films independently in DVD format to this day. P has been engaged in several business ventures over the years and the introduction of the digital-only No Limit Forever record entity only solidifies he’s not going anywhere soon.

Netflix Prices Set To Rise

Prices for its popular standard plan, which allows streaming on two devices at the same time, will be increased to $12.99 per month from $10.99. The company's top-tier plan, which allows streaming on four screens in high definition, will be raised to $15.99 from $13.99 per month, while fee for its basic plan will rise to $8.99 from $7.99.

Netflix is raising monthly fees for its U.S. subscribers by between 13 percent and 18 percent, the video streaming pioneer's first price increase since 2017 as it spends heavily on original content and international expansion.

Time Warner Inc's HBO Now streaming service charges $14.99 per month, while Hulu's no-advertisements plan is priced at $11.99 per month.

Netflix has been pouring money to bolster its original content, which boasts award-winning shows such as "The Crown", "Black Mirror" and "Wild Wild Country", to fend off intensifying competition from players such as Amazon.com's Prime Video service and Hulu.

The company is expected to have a debt level of $8.33 billion in 2018, according to Daniel Morgan, senior portfolio manager at Synovus Trust Co, which owns 15,019 shares of Netflix.

"With Netflix frequently tapping the debt markets on several recent occasions, the price hike could help ease concerns with a growing deficit on free cash flow to fund a likely continued escalation in Netflix's content spending, which likely topped $13 billion in 2018."

Did Lil Uzi Vert Quit Because He Is Gay?

What! Lil Uzi Vert's been preparing for the album's release throughout 2018. The rapper announced his departure from the rap game via instagram saying "I'm done with music I deleted everything I wanna be normal". He added at the bottom of that post, "You are free."

Vert gained attention after appearing on Migos’ song “Bad and Boujee,” which reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in January 2017. That same year, in June, his song “XO Tour Llif3” peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song went quadruple platinum, according to the Recording Industry Association of America. His debut studio album, Luv Is Rage 2, premiered at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Lil Uzi was Soundcloud’s most followed artist of 2016. In 2017, he made Forbes’ list of Hip Hop cash princes. The following year, he made the magazines’ list of 30 Under 30 in music. So far, the rapper has been nominated for two Grammy awards.

Lil Uzi Vert was reportedly fined $30,000 after a promoter says the rapper missed a 2017 show and then didn’t respond to a lawsuit. Promoter VelleBe says Lil Uzi was paid $40,000 to perform at a March 25, 2017 show at Clayton’s Beach Bar in South Padre Island, Texas, but was a no-show.

In January 2019, Lil Uzi alarmed fans when he announced he was quitting music and deleting all his songs. Apparently, the rapper was overwhelmed with his career choice and decided it was time to go back to his life before the fame. This is the message he wrote to fans on Instagram stories account: “I wanna take the time out to say I thank each and every one of my supporters, but I’m done with Music. I deleted everything. I wanna be normal… I wanna wake up in 2013. You are free.”

Lil Uzi Vert has collaborated with artists including Mac Miller, Migos, and Post Malone. He also makes money from touring and album sales. The rapper earns roughly $60,000 per show. Lil Uzi Vert has a net worth of $17 million according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Man Finds $10,000 In Chanel Hand Bag

Now this man is a good hearted person. Richard Taverna came into the possession of just such a "donation" on Thursday morning at the Lincoln Center-66th Street 1 train stop when he found a Chanel purse sitting unattended on the platform. The commuter scooped up the stray bag, saw a note inside written in Russian and took it home with him. That is, until he realized it was stuffed with $10,000 in cash.

Taverna went to police with the bag, and the money, in order to reunite it with its rightful owner. "It wasn't mine. If someone lost $10,000, they're probably going through a lot of distress," Taverna said. A woman who lives in Manhattan but was traveling to Russia left the cash on the platform by accident, and came to the 20th Precinct looking for her bag.

She is a lucky woman. It's a good thing Taverna turn the bag in because the next person would not have.

Birdman and Lil Wayne Now fighting Over Drake's Royalties

Soon after Birdman and Lil Wayne seemingly ended their beef, things might be reignited yet again.

In 2017, Aspire Music, co-founded by Lil Wayne's manager Cortez Bryant, sued Birdman over unpaid royalties from Drake's catalog. Birdman has responded with a countersuit that accuses Bryant and Lil Wayne of working with attorney Ronald Sweeney in an attempt to gain a larger share of Drake's profit.

Aspire claims they discovered Drake and are entitled to 1/3 share of profits from Drake's first six albums in addition to a share of copyrights. The remainder was to be split between Lil Wayne's Young Money and Birdman's Cash Money.

Birdman is seeking unspecified damages for fraud, aiding and abetting a breach of fiduciary duty and interference with contractual relations in the lawsuit. He also wants Aspire's lawsuit to be tossed.
