Wayne had previously asked to see Birdman’sfinancial records to find out how he burned through $70 mil they were supposed to split from a $100 million advance from Universal.
As we reported … Birdman’s lawyers say they’ve already forked over more than 20,000 pages of docs to Wayne’s legal team. But Wayne’s attorneys claim those are useless, and they want a full-on money trail.
Here’s the problem for Birdman — his peeps over at Cash Money weren’t keeping very good track of those records … for 2 whole years. Birdman’s lawyer shrugged it off this way … “It is what it is.”
That excuse didn’t fly with the judge … who gave Birdman 30 days to find those records, or get the right person who knows where they are and get ’em to Wayne.
Rumors are that +Birdman wont give +Lil Wayne a opt out of his contract. Sources close to Birdman tell us … he’s deeply offended by Weezy’s public rants … claiming Birdman has tried to derail his career by refusing to release his new album. Weezy didn’t mince words, tweeting, “I want off this label and nothing to do with these people.”
The release date for Lil Wayne‘s twelfth studio album Tha Carter V has been a decision held in hostage for nearly six years. The Cash Money chief and musical father to Wayne, Birdman has recently expressed a high level of assurance that the lengthily postponed album will drop this year, 2018.
Soon after Birdman and Lil Wayne seemingly ended their beef, things might be reignited yet again.
In 2017, Aspire Music, co-founded by Lil Wayne's manager Cortez Bryant, sued Birdman over unpaid royalties from Drake's catalog. Birdman has responded with a countersuit that accuses Bryant and Lil Wayne of working with attorney Ronald Sweeney in an attempt to gain a larger share of Drake's profit.
Aspire claims they discovered Drake and are entitled to 1/3 share of profits from Drake's first six albums in addition to a share of copyrights. The remainder was to be split between Lil Wayne's Young Money and Birdman's Cash Money.
Birdman is seeking unspecified damages for fraud, aiding and abetting a breach of fiduciary duty and interference with contractual relations in the lawsuit. He also wants Aspire's lawsuit to be tossed.
It has been over a decade since Birdman and Mannie Fresh split after a legendary run together as the executive + producer team behind Cash Money Records' rise in the rap game. But come October 7, they will have officially put their long estrangement behind them, as the duo announced a Big Tymers reunion show that will mark Fresh's return to the label.
Holding down the exclusive role as in-house producer of Cash Money since 1993, Mannie Fresh was almost solely responsible for the production work behind the Hot Boys albums that put New Orleans rap on the map. He would also compose the solo projects of members Juvenile, BG, Turk and Lil Wayne, before forming the Big Tymers tandem with the label head himself. But in 2005 a royalties dispute spelled the end of his relationship with Birdman, and the two went their separate ways.
News of the group's restoration comes on the heels of the label's deal to release a documentary titled, "The Cash Money Story: Before Anythang," through Apple Music. On Friday, September 2, tickets went on sale for fans interested in seeing the Big Tymers perform hits off of their 5 album catalog, at the New Orleans' House of Blues. The show promises to feature special guest appearances, and with such a nostalgic Cash Money Films project abound, Birdman just may make a push to bring other members of the original Cash Money camp back into the fold.
Birdman's interview on the "Big Facts Podcast" has been getting a lot of attention. From him addressing why he kissed Lil Wayne on the mouth, to giving over a billion total to Lil Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj, Birdman is spilling a lot of never-heard-before information.

The world might not have to wait too much longer before Cash Money Records puts the long awaited album out, as a recent court ruling got the ball rolling in the direction of resolving Wayne and Birdman's bitter legal dispute. The Cash Money mogul was given a month to hand over a full record detailing how the $70 million Wayne was promised a share of was spent after a judge determined that the 22,000 pages of documents previously released were insufficient. While the judgement proved to be a set-back for Birdman, it didn't keep him from wishing Wayne a happy birthday, as he went about flooding his Instagram page with blessings for the man he's long referred to as his son.

Birdman is getting called on the carpet by the guy who discovered Drake, and the guy thinks Baby has a M.O. Jas Prince filed new legal docs demanding that Cash Money open the books on the millions of dollars Drake has generated for the label.
Jas is pissed because he’s gotten a grand total of $2 million for his find, even though he was promised a huge chunk of the profits. And there are reports Cash Money has made $40 million from Drake. So Jas — whose dad is J. Prince — wants to shine a light on Birdman’smoney practices. Jas isn’t alone — Cash Money has already been sued by Lil Wayne and Young Turk, both of whom think Birdman has been shorting them.
Drake, Nicki Minaj and Tyga say they got screwed by Birdman just like Lil Wayne did, as least that’s what Lil Wayne claims in new legal docs. Lil Wayne now claims in his bitter lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money, he has letters from Drake and Tyga’s people claiming they got stiffed out of a fortune. And Nicki’s people say in a separate letter her producers also got shortchanged by Young Money, and Wayne says it’s Cash Money’s responsibility to pay producers. As you know, Lil Wayne runs Young Money, whose stable of artists include Drake, Nicki and Tyga. Cash Money is the parent company of Young Money, and Birdman is the big boss. The allegations of Cash Money’s financial shenanigans are massive. Young Money clams it was supposed to get a big chunk of a $100 million advance from Universal, an advance that went directly to Cash Money, and they’re still waiting. But Cash Money says Wayne and company are full of it. They gave him a $20 million advance for Young Money in 2012, another $12 million for Wayne’s solo album and another $70 million in advances, royalties, marketing and recording costs for various Young Money artists.
The Cobb County District Attorney’s office said Friday it will decide in the next couple of weeks whether to charge an Atlanta rapper and a record executive as co-conspirators in the 2015 shooting of Dwayne “Lil Wayne” Carter’s tour bus.
Prosecutors claim Jimmy “Peewee Roscoe” Winfrey shot up the bus on I-285 after a concert as a way to gain status in a gang.
One theory they initially floated was that Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Jeffrey “Young Thug” Williams put him up to it.
The Georgia Supreme Court overturned Winfrey’s conviction last year after ruling the Cobb County judge improperly coerced him into taking a plea deal and accepting a 10-year prison sentence by threatening he would get more time if a jury convicted him in his court.
On Thursday, the Court of Appeals remanded the case back to Cobb County.
“Mr. Winfrey always denied being the shooter of the bus,” Manny Arora, who represented Winfrey in his first trial, told Channel 2’s Mike Petchenik.
The driver of the bus, Alvin Lewis, is suing Winfrey, Birdman and Young Thug, alleging they conspired in the shooting that caused him pain and suffering.
In a civil court filing this week, Lewis’ attorney, Jeff Gewirtz, included pieces of evidence from the criminal case that he argues point to that conspiracy.
Among the documents obtained by Petchenik, phone records that the lawsuit said shows Young Thug called Winfrey eight times in the 12 minutes leading up to the shooting.
Petchenik also obtained a jailhouse phone call referenced in the lawsuit. In it, Bryan “Birdman” Williams is talking to Winfrey.
“Time for you to come out here and get your money,” he can be heard telling Winfrey. “You did everything you could do boss ... it’s eye-opening. (It's) strictly business, man.”
Arora told Petchenik he doesn’t buy the conspiracy argument.
“The musician that was the intended target has never once said, 'these guys did it' or 'there was a beef,'” Arora said. “He’s actually been pretty silent on this whole issue.”
Arora said he believes the civil suit is a money grab.
“This is just a bus driver looking to get paid and they need a deep pocket so if you connect Mr. Winfrey to other musicians or executives, that makes it a viable case for them,” he said.

Cash Money is involved in another lawsuit involving one of their artists not being paid. This time around the artist involved is Drake, as Page Six claims that Birdman's label has been keeping royalties from Drake's music.
Before signing with Cash Money, Drake was signed to Jas Prince's Aspire Music Group, who is currently involved in a lawsuit with Birdman's label over an agreement to get one-third of Drake's earnings. The amount Aspire is owed is unclear, but they claim that Cash Money is "hoarding" money and not divulging their earnings.

Now the asking price has dropped $4.5 million.
