The 47-year-old actress has fronted 'The Drew Barrymore Show' since 2020 and revealed that her dream guest would be pop star Britney Spears after she was freed from her conservatorship late last year.

Beyonce has received her first-ever Daytime Emmy Award nomination.


The 40-year-old star - who has already won a host of accolades during her career - has been nominated in the Outstanding Original Song category for the track that she wrote for her mother's Facebook talk show.

Wayne gave his answer in a special edition of What’s Wright? With Nick Wright, a podcast version of the Fox Sports personality’s popular show.


Almost as well known for his affinity for hip-hop as Wayne is for his sports referencing raps, Wright offers his own list (a pretty humdrum collection including the usual picks: Jay-Z, Tupac, Wayne himself, Kanye West, and T.I.), which Wayne says he respects. Then Wayne starts off his own list with a pick that far too few people include for my taste, Missy Elliott. Vindication!

What The Ban on Cigarettes Mean

 


The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is moving forward with plans to ban menthol cigarettes and all flavored cigars—policies that agency officials say could help prevent some of the roughly 500,000 U.S. deaths linked to tobacco each year.


“The actions we are proposing can help significantly reduce youth initiation and increase the chances that current smokers quit,” FDA Commissioner Dr. Robert Califf said in a statement. “It is clear that these efforts will help save lives.”

High School Students Workout For Free All Summer Long

 


Planet Fitness, one of the largest and fastest-growing franchisors and operators of fitness centers with more members than any other fitness brand, is inviting high schoolers ages 14 – 19* to work out for free at any of its more than 2,200 Planet Fitness locations throughout the United States and Canada from May 16 through August 31 as part of the High School Summer Pass initiative.


High School Summer Pass was formally known as Teen Summer Challenge, which was the first program of its kind launched in 2019 and saw more than 900,000 teens sign-up and complete more than 5.5 million workouts over a three-and-a-half-month period. Starting today, high schoolers can visit PlanetFitness.com/SummerPass to pre-register, and get a reminder to formally sign up when the program officially kicks off on Monday, May 16. Teens under 18 must register with a parent or guardian online or in-club.

How Bill Spruill turned his employees into millionaires

 


Black tech entrepreneur Bill Spruill turned his employees into millionaires when he sold his startup Global Data Consortium for an undisclosed amount.


The North Carolina tech company was sold to the owner of the London Stock Exchange. The financial details have yet to be disclosed, but Spruill described the amount as a “Bronto-level transaction,” which NetSuite bought for $200 million in 2015.

Lil Durk Launches HBCU Program For Chicago Teens

 


Lil Durk came back to Chicago for a special night wrapping up his 7220 Tour at the United Center a venue that once upon a time didn’t allow him to perform there. Ahead of Monday’s show Durkio launched an HBCU college program through his Neighborhood Heroes Foundation, where he will introduce students to different kinds of career paths.

Ashanti Talks Receiving Credit For Jennifer Lopez's Hits in the 2000s

 


Over the years, there has been speculation as to if Ashanti had a hand in the creation of Jennifer Lopez’s hits from the 2000s, like “I’m Real” and “Ain’t It Funny.” Now, Ashanti has seemingly addressed finally receiving credit for her hand in those songs. 


While speaking to Metro, the 41-year-old singer talked about being credited for working on this songs. The singer went on to say “You should always care about credit for what you do regardless of what industry you’re in, it’s really important to give credit.”

Jay-Z’s Firm Backs $33 Million Investment

 


Sandbridge Capital and Jay-Z’s venture capital business are investing $33 million in beauty brand Madison Reed.


Madison Reed will use the money to expand its hair color-bar presence, the firms said in their announcement Thursday. The company wants to add locations in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Chicago, hire 850 new colorists and expand its omnichannel offerings.
