Volkswagen Tiguan - Review and Road Test

The 2018 Tiguan has a good amount of utility for a compact SUV , and its well-rounded appeal is boosted by strong crash test scores, a slightly above-average predicted reliability rating, and low ownership costs.

Based on industry data the Tiguan has average reliability overall. RepairPal gave the Tiguan an average reliability rating of 3/5. Kelley Blue Book's consumer rating index gave the Tiguan a good reliability rating of 4.3/5.

You can find it in your owner's manual or online. Think of it like going to the doctor for a checkup. If you stick to your schedule and get your SUV looked at regularly, your VW Tiguan could cruise past 100,000 miles and be on the road 10 years from now.

The biggest area of concern on the 2018 model was related to its power equipment. Other problem areas in the previous model years included the Tiguan's body integrity, brakes, and suspension. Oppositely, J.D. Power gave the 2018 Tiguan an above-average dependability score.

Now in its 2nd-generation the all-new 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan is roomier, techier, safer, and offers a modest 3rd row seat, helping it better compete with top-selling compact SUVs.
