Chris Brown And Lil Wayne Under Investigation

Chris Brown and Lil Wayne are being investigated for their ties to Harrison Garcia, a Miami-based producer who is on trial for federal drug charges.

According to the Miami Herald, Garcia bragged via text message about receiving $15,000 in his bank account from Chris Brown for drugs. In an exchange with a woman, Garcia shared a screenshot of a wire transfer from a Christopher Brown. When the woman asked why he paid Garcia, he responded by saying, “Drugs … lean and s***.” He also directed his "do-boy" to deliver drugs to Lil Wayne, as he texted, “I’ll shoot u some trees. It’s for Wayne.”

When he was first arrested in October, Garcia confessed that he sold "a lot of narcotics" to Lil Wayne. Agents believe that he used the money from the drugs to buy several luxury cars, guns, high-end clothing, and jewelry, including a chain that looked like a styrofoam cup spilling out lean.

According to a report from the New York Post, NYC’s Black Lives Matter chapter chairperson Hawk Newsome has called for an investigation into one of the co-founders’ finances after purchasing real estate totaling $3.2 million.

Newsome has called for a probe into Patrisse Cullors’ financial records after the BLM co-founder bought four homes, including a $1.5 million home in the white, residential area of Topanga Canyon in L.A. County. According to the report, Cullors and her wife, Janaya Khan, own a custom ranch that is equipped with a airplane hangar in Georgia as well as a $500K, three bedroom home in Inglewood, CA.

The New Hotel Het Arresthuis

Can you imagine experiencing modern comfort within a former prison building? The prison building built back in 1850 went through renovations and extensions before it was re-designed by studio Engelman Architecten. Each room is made of three interconnected prison cells designed as the living room, bedroom and bathroom. Retaining most of its original design, this reshaped building showcases a revived street facade flanked by two new apartment blocks and a new gate.

Within the prison complex, the courtyard was reshaped to offer a semi-open space where history and future come together in a successful effort to provide us with a new perception of the spaces we use. The really redifines the prison system.

The brand plans to open the new Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills in 2017.

Located adjacent to The Beverly Hilton on the corner of Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevards in Beverly Hills, the 12-story, 170-room luxury hotel will be the brand’s first new build on the West Coast and will join the Waldorf Astoria portfolio of 24 hotels and resorts.

Alexander Wang Premiers New Furniture Collection

American fashion designer, renowned for his urban, chic, trend-setting styles has jumped on the furniture design bandwagon. Alexander Wang has debuted a three-piece furniture collection for Italian brand Poltrona Frau.

The creative director of French house Balenciaga has unveiled the new collection comprising of a brass-footed beanbag chair in inky black shearling, a second version in leather and a companion bar cabinet, wrapped in squares of jet-black shagreen, that opens to reveal jagged brass shelves. True to his signature style, the 30-year old designer has effortlessly blended luxury with street-style. Giving his creations a Wang-touch, the $8,800 beanbag chair’s base stands on nine sides unlike the usual symmetrical eight. Also the bar is crafted to swivel on luggage-style wheels.

Emphasizing the urge to add oomph to everyday product, the designer elucidates about designing the beanbag chair. Wang spoke about it to Wall Street Journal, “It’s banal, an everyday item. We always had them in the TV room. But I like to recontextualize what is banal, what is luxurious. To make it with Poltrona, that just completely changes it. And yet at the end of the day, it’s still a beanbag chair.” He added “I love that.”

Always keen to try his hand in furniture, Wang has, over a period, developed liking for exotic finishes and the furniture designed by Karl Springer, Milo Baughman and the likes.
