What Would A Battle Between DMX And Jay-Z Be Like?

Before DMX and Jay Z became international rap titans, they competed in a classic hip-hop war. Even with all that feuding in the past, Hov and X have collaborated on a bunch of songs, including "It's Murda" and "Blackout." They even almost formed a group with Ja Rule.

In 1999, Jay Z and DMX embarked (and majorly cashed in) on the Hard Knock Life Tour. Although Jay Z’s album gave the tour its name, the lineup was a joint headliner of the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder and DMX.

Captured in the documentary film Backstage, Jay Z and DMX had vastly different demeanors on wax, on stage, and as celebrities. While both were pillars of Rap-made-right and suddenly sex symbols, they only overlapped in skill and love of the art.

University Of Kansas Apologizes To Snoop Dogg

The University of Kansas apologized for its risqué Late Night at the Phog event in which rapper Snoop Dogg performed, stripper poles were wheeled onto the Allen Fieldhouse floor and fake money was shot over the heads of prospective recruits.

The Jayhawks instead got an R-rated performance for their annual basketball kickoff and another big headache as they deal with a high-level NCAA infractions case tied to recruiting.

Kansas has been putting on Late Night for 35 years, but what began as a scrimmage to celebrate the start of basketball practices has turned into a night of skits, music and entertainment. That’s included big-name rappers in recent years, such as Tech N9ne, Lil Yaghty and 2 Chainz.

None of them brought the cache of Snoop, though. The 47-year-old rapper and well-known sports fan was expected to take the minds of players, fans and recruits off the specter of the NCAA investigation and turn attention fully to a season in which the Jayhawks are expected to be title contenders.

The school even promoted his appearance with a social media video of Hall of Fame coach Bill Self wearing a gaudy chain and Adidas shirt — the focus of the NCAA inquiry has been on the apparel company’s dealings with recruits, including whether officials paid them to steer them to its schools.

The school received a notice from the NCAA late last month alleging three severe violations tied to recruiting and a responsibility charge leveled against Self. Also cited is a lack of institutional control within the program.

The document does not detail what Kansas is accused of doing. The program is among the most prominent in an NCAA inquiry into a pay-for-play scheme that began with an FBI investigation into the apparel company Adidas.

How Master P Survived A Decade Of Music

When Master P first entered the music industry, it was never about music. Percy Miller is a business man all the way around the board.

The No Limit Soldiers kept the music industry on lock by releasing new content every month. Upon arrival with his debut album "Bout It Bout It" Master P had the largest movie and soundtrack surfacing during that time.

Back in 2014, in an interview with VladTV, Master P recently claimed to have sold as many as 75 million albums during his tenure with No Limit Records. Having gained immense popularity in his musical career, Master P is also the CEO of P. Miller Enterprises. As of 2018, Master P's net worth is roughly $250 million.

Master P and the No Limit Soldiers was the hottest rap group until Cash Money records hit the scene to slow down their record sales. Master P created a hip-hop empire without registering on any mainstream radar. For several years, he operated solely in the rap underground.

Beginning in the early 1990s, the New Orleans native dominated the landscape for much of the decade with a staggering amount of product. Although many associate P with The Big Easy, he established the No Limit brand in Northern California.

Shifting the label to New Orleans, P signed Mystikal, Kane & Abel, Mia-X, the late Soulja Slim and former Death Row artist Snoop Dogg.

It wasn’t all music with Master P, as the mogul’s film company continues to release films independently in DVD format to this day. P has been engaged in several business ventures over the years and the introduction of the digital-only No Limit Forever record entity only solidifies he’s not going anywhere soon.

Snoop Dogg Receives Star On Hollywood Walk Of Fame

The honor arrives nearly 25 years after the “Peaches And Cream” rapper introduced himself Snoop Dogg to the music industry with his debut album Doggystyle. Since then, the veteran artist went on to rack up awards, star in films, and host an Emmy-nominated show alongside Martha Stewart.

Snoop Dogg will now be referred to as the 2,651st recipient of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony took place on Monday (Nov. 19) in the “Gin & Juice” rapper’s home state of California. At the start of his speech, the 47-year-old artist gave praise to Warren G, his family, his wife, and the battle rappers he encountered on his rise to fame.

“Snoop is a multi-talent: rapper, songwriter, record producer, TV host, actor, author, entrepreneur,” Kimmel said before comically adding that Snoop won the Nobel Peace Prize for combining gin and juice. “You crossed over color lines, you crossed over genre lines before almost anyone else in hip-hop did that. You put the O-G in D-O-double-G and I know you won’t remember any of this in half an hour but you’ve been such a good friend to me and I want to say congratulations and thank you.”

Dr. Dre also took to the podium, stating that almost 30 years as partners in music, he and Snoop have developed a bond that extends far beyond the studio. “I had no idea how I was going to do it, how it was going to get done, and them boom, here comes Snoop,” Dre said on putting together his The Chronic album. “A true diamond in the rough. Snoop is just pure raw talent. Nobody sounds like Snoop, and when he opens his mouth you know exactly who it is.”

Fellow Walk of Famer Quincy Jones also congratulated everyone’s favorite uncle for his prowess since the days of Doggystyle to serving as a beacon of entrepreneurship for young people. “It was 25 years ago, but it seems only yesterday that you and your crew were hanging at my house. I wasn’t even in town, but it’s alright though,” he said to laughs. “Because you were family then and you are family now and forever, eternally. How magnificent your journey has been from St. Louis to Long Beach to Hollywood.”

Suge Knight Transferred To Prison

Suge arrived Tuesday at Wasco State Prison and from the looks of his miserable mug shot above, it doesn’t seem like the former music mogul is excited about his new spot.

He’ll have to go through physical and mental examinations and review his records before getting settled at Wasco. Depending on the results he can stay there, or be transferred to another prison.

The jail is in the middle of nowhere in Kern County, and has 400 beds. It’s definitely a stretch in comparison to what the former Death Row Records CEO was used to during his prime, celebrating in Hollywood with the likes of Tupac, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.

Suge Knight took a plea deal last month and was sentenced to 28 years in jail. He got credit for time served, but fortunately for him, due to prison overcrowding, he may be out in about 10 years.

See Wayne Full Profile
