R. Kelly has more than $1.5 million in a royalties account with Sony, the singer’s former record label. The question now: Who gets that money?
R. Kelly’s former Near West Side landlord secured a $3.5 million judgment earlier this year against the jailed singer to cover past-due rent. A woman sued the singer last year, alleging sexual abuse, and was awarded $4 million. That woman, who the Chicago Sun-Times is not naming, is one of Kelly’s four alleged victims in his pending criminal case in Cook County.
After the awards were issued in each suit, attorneys for both plaintiffs contacted Sony with a “citation to discover assets,” which revealed Kelly had $1,544,333 in a now-frozen royalties account.

President Barack Obama is making his return to the political arena to help embattled Democrats win in November’s midterm elections. And for the first time, Obama publicly called out President Donald Trump by name.
While Obama has in the past blasted Trump and his policies, this was the first speech in which he used his successor’s name.
Obama also addressed Trump’s tone-deaf comments last year, when the president claimed that there were “some very fine people on both sides” during the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, that saw white supremacists squaring off against anti-racism protesters. Paralegal Heather Heyer, 32, was killed during the protest when a white supremacist struck her with his car.
The former president also applauded the women who have taken a stand in the Me Too movement, and the teens of Parkland, Florida, who are standing up to gun violence and the National Rifle Association. That’s how real change starts, Obama said. But nothing will get done if this generation doesn’t vote, he added.

Pop singer Aaron Carter was hospitalized on Friday night, February 17, after he was attacked on stage by a fellow musician who felt insulted by a racially charged idiom he directed towards him while telling him to get out of the venue he was performing at.
The incident happened at the Looney Bin in Bradley, Illinois, where members of the band Ill State lingered around after opening up for the 29-year-old "Aaron's Party" singer. Witnesses say that band member Tommy Solace, who is Latino, was ordered to leave after antagonizing fans, reportedly snatching cellphones to mockingly snap photos of Carter. "Bye Felipe," Carter stated, as he watched Solace being escorted out, from the stage. Moments later Solace managed to re-enter the venue, and find his way on to the stage where Carter says he punched him twice, leaving him bloodied.
"Felipe is a Mexican name and the manner in which he said it was indeed racist if you see the video. I myself come from the south side of Chicago and am no stranger to being racially profiled and discriminated so his remarks got me really angry, especially during these times when racism is so prevalent and people think they can say what they want with no repercussions," fellow band member Haze Carbajal told a local news syndicate, in defense of Solace's actions.
Carter would be treated and then released from a local hospital, but was on social media to clear the air, on Saturday. "This dude sized me up after I said he had to go and said bye Felipe like bye Felicia the male version.. Friday? He needed to go," he tweeted. The singer's rep has since released a statement refuting that he meant anything offensive by the comment, writing: "No racial slur was used by Aaron. His response to his attacker was a pop culture slang phrase equivalent to the phrase 'bye Felica,' also found in the urban dictionary."
R. Kelly is facing a set of new allegations which include bribery and sexually abusing a 17-year-old boy.

One thing that we all know for certain, no matter what happens to R. Kelly in court, his music will live on. He is locked up pending trial because he's been denied bail twice in the two federal cases, in New York and Illinois.
I'm just finding out that Sources from all over are reporting that R. Kelly may be indicted soon! The ongoing federal investigation into R. Kelly is close to wrapping up, and there’s a very good chance the singer will be battling dual indictments in both New York and Illinois. We’re told a key group of those witnesses were from the family of girlfriend Joycelyn Savage, who met with the team of investigators and provided information and physical evidence, including plane tickets, text messages and photos. Officials have been specifically interested in how Kelly and his associates allegedly bought plane tickets for underage girls and moved them around the country while he was performing. The investigation has been led by officials with ICE Homeland Security Investigations, which is responsible for investigating crimes of human trafficking, sex trafficking and child exploitation. We will do our best to keep you informed if more was to come up before the trial begins. Other Articles: Top 5 Best R. Kelly Songs Is R. Kelly King Of R&B Or Usher?
