Cadillac Returning Back To Michigan

Cadillac will relocate is headquarters back to Detroit from New York City. Cadillac moved its HQ to New York under former boss Johan de Nysschen. Cadillac on Wednesday confirmed that the automaker has decided to relocate the luxury brand's headquarters back to Michigan.

Detroit is great, but it can be an echo chamber, especially in a company as large and storied as General Motors. The problem is that Cadillac still relies heavily on Detroit.

Cadillac is returning its global headquarters to metro Detroit after three years in New York's upscale SoHo neighborhood. The move contradicts General Motors' stated plans in the near future.

A GM spokesman confirmed that Cadillac will move to a location near GM’s technical center in Warren, Mich., north of Detroit. A probable location would be the former headquarters of longtime GM ad agency partner Lowe Campbell Ewald in Warren, Mich., north of Detroit. GM bought the 150,000-square-foot building for $2 million in 2014.

"The move will place the Cadillac brand team closer to those responsible for the new Cadillacs, including design, engineering, purchasing and manufacturing, ensuring full integration of Cadillac's global growth strategy."

Ne-Yo And Brian McKnight Caught Up In Scheme

The panel in Ohio found 42-year-old Kevin Foster of Montclair, New Jersey, guilty of wire fraud, money laundering, bankruptcy fraud, tax evasion and filing false tax returns last week. A federal jury has convicted a business manager of defrauding R&B artists Ne-Yo and Brian McKnight in a sports beverage scheme.

Prosecutors say Foster induced Ne-Yo, whose real name is Shaffer Smith, to invest $2 million into OXYWater under false representations. They say Foster invested an additional $1.5 million of Smith’s money without his consent and took out lines of credit by forging Smith’s name.

Authorities say he also defrauded McKnight to fund the operation and his lavish lifestyle of luxury cars, designer watches and season tickets to the New York Knicks and Giants.

The Putin Limousine

Putin arrived in the Finnish capital on Monday for his first face-to-face with Trump. Amongst the lighter topics of conversation between the two presidents may well be the comparison of their respective state cars: Trump’s Cadillac dubbed ‘The Beast’ and Putin’s Aurus Senat limo.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is in Helsinki to meet with US counterpart Donald Trump, is using the occasion to showcase Russia’s new Aurus limo, the state car designed as part of a new luxury brand.

The Russian limos were delivered to Finland last week on an Ilyushin Il-76 transport plane, according to local media. It’s the first public appearance of the Aurus brand outside Russia.

The new car line was developed as part of a project called Kortezh (“motorcade” in Russian). In addition to the limousine, the Aurus line includes a sedan, also called Senat, as well as a minivan named Arsenal, and a 4x4 car called Komendant. The cars are expected to enter the market next year.

R Kelly Back In Court

Another young woman has come forward to detail an alleged incident she had with R. Kelly in which the singer tried to 'lure' her into a sex scam. One woman said R. Kelly is guilty of pampering women with so much luxury they become dependent on him and don't want to leave.

A couple who claim their daughter is having a sexual relationship with R. Kelly, and that she is being manipulated by him into cutting off her family. R. Kelly's career was scorching hot, as it had been since day one, even though by this point the Aaliyah debacle was still on everyone's mind. R. Kelly's alleged sexual misdeeds have been in the public record for decades. Half his lifetime ago, in 1994, he married his then-15-year-old Aaliyah.

Ja Rule Sued

As we previously reported, the "luxury music weekend" was the brainchild of Ja Rule and Billy McFarland. Guests who paid anywhere from $1000 to $100,000 to attend were promised first class accommodations and performances by Lil Yachty, Migos, G.O.O.D. Music, Major Lazer and Blink 182.

When guests started arriving on Thursday, April 27, they were greeted by "soggy tents, bad food and general disappointment verging on panic," according to the New York Times.

TMZ reports that attorney Mark Geragos has filed a lawsuit against McFarland and Ja, on behalf of a concertgoer who believes the entire event was nothing more than a get-rich-scam.

The suit claims that both men lied about the festival's amenities and safety. FEMA tents were the so-called luxury accommodations and wild animals could be seen scurrying about. In addition, both Ja and McFarland are accused of warning some celebrity guests in advance not to come, knowing the event would not be up to par.

Chris Brown And Lil Wayne Under Investigation

Chris Brown and Lil Wayne are being investigated for their ties to Harrison Garcia, a Miami-based producer who is on trial for federal drug charges.

According to the Miami Herald, Garcia bragged via text message about receiving $15,000 in his bank account from Chris Brown for drugs. In an exchange with a woman, Garcia shared a screenshot of a wire transfer from a Christopher Brown. When the woman asked why he paid Garcia, he responded by saying, “Drugs … lean and s***.” He also directed his "do-boy" to deliver drugs to Lil Wayne, as he texted, “I’ll shoot u some trees. It’s for Wayne.”

When he was first arrested in October, Garcia confessed that he sold "a lot of narcotics" to Lil Wayne. Agents believe that he used the money from the drugs to buy several luxury cars, guns, high-end clothing, and jewelry, including a chain that looked like a styrofoam cup spilling out lean.

Will Hudson Bay Buy Neiman Marcus?

I don't know how true it is, but Canada's Hudson's Bay Co., widely reported to be in talks to acquire Macy's Inc., may also be interested in luxury retailer Neiman Marcus. Luxury retailer Neiman Marcus says it's exploring strategic alternatives.

The Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board currently owns 50 per cent of the company, with private equity firm Ares Management as an equal partner. Neiman Marcus disclosed it is exploring strategic alternatives, including a possible sale of the company. Neiman Marcus scuttled plans for an initial public offering in January, as the retailer grapples with slowing sales.

Macy’s market cap, at just shy of US$9.4 billion, is more than five times the value of Hudson’s Bay, though the latter has forecast its real estate assets hold as much as $14.2 billion in value.

Versace Sued By Employees

A former employee at a Pleasanton, California Versace store has filed a lawsuit accusing the high-end retailer of discrimination, not only against him, but towards its Black customers. 

The suit alleges that during his time as a clerk with the company, 23-year-old Christopher Sampiro was not afforded rest periods and was wrongfully terminated without having received payment for time worked. Sampiro also claims the store carried out a policy of having staff alert co-workers when a Black person entered the establishment by passing mention of it through a secret code.
