Ohio Lawmakers Propose State Holiday Honoring Donald Trump

Although 3,154,834 Ohio voters nominated Trump as President, many voices in the Black community remained quiet.

As the world adjusts to life under the Biden administration, a pair of Ohio state lawmakers hope to honor Biden's predecessor with a state holiday.

No Republican has ever won the presidency without winning Ohio, and since the advent of the duopoly two-party system, Democrats have won the presidency without winning Ohio only five times.

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, the two lawmakers proposed June 14 (Trump's birthday) be a statewide holiday for the 45th President of the United States. Representatives Jon Cross and Reggie Stoltzfus formally made the request on Friday via email to their fellow lawmakers. They noted that the proposed holiday would  “celebrate one of the greatest presidents in American history.”

“Let’s show the 3,154,834 Ohio voters who cast their ballot to re-elect Donald J. Trump that we as a legislature recognize the accomplishments of his administration,” the email read.

Do you think Donald deserves his own holiday in Ohio? Will this cause other states to do the same? Well see what happens soon I'm sure.
