Bank Robbed In Lima, Ohio

Lima, Ohio reports that a bank was robbed in Shawnee on Tuesday. A white woman, about 5 foot 7, possibly in her 40s, wearing a dark blue scarf and sunglasses to cover her face, entered the Union Bank at 701 Shawnee Road at 4:59 p.m. Tuesday. She told a teller she had a weapon but did not display it and asked for money, said Chief Mike Keith of the Shawnee Township Police Department.

I guess no-one saw this coming in our own city. The woman escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash. She was last seen walking north from the bank. I don't see how she got away in public, she must have an image that could pass without anyone thinking she would do such a thing.

The woman also may be the same person who robbed several banks in Columbus and Dublin. She matched the description, and that robber arrived at closing time. How crazy is that.

Chris Brown Named Suspect

The R&B singer was identified as the man who allegedly assaulted another adult male during a basketball game at Palms Casino Resort, according to the Las Vegas police. The man was treated for non-life threatening injuries, which were sustained after a verbal spat lead to a physical fight.

“Mr. Brown has been given the option of signing a citation for misdemeanor battery, or having the case submitted to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution,” the press release reads. “As of this release, the LVMPD has not heard from Mr. Brown or his attorney indicating whether or not he would sign the citation.”

Chris Brown has been named a suspect in a basketball-related battery incident that went down during the early hours of Monday, May 4, according to Las Vegas police. After spending years on probation for the 2009 assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna, Brown was officially taken off probation in March of 2015.

New Audi On Demand APP

The concept is simple, Audi has a fleet of cars in your city – right now the only city it’s available in is San Francisco – and they have an app for iOS and Android. You have a credit card, a valid driver’s license and a smartphone. All you have to do is download the app, pick your dates, select the model Audi you want to drive, enter your info and, boom, Audi brings the car to you at the time and place you specify.

And just about every model is available for use. Got a hot date you want to impress, reserve a R8 Spyder for the evening. Want to take the family up to Mammoth for a ski weekend? Book an allroad or a Q5. You can reserve a car up to six months in advance or as little as two hours ahead of time. The Audi Concierge will bring the car to you or you can pick it up at an Audi Concierge garage. You can rent the car for as little as one day up to 28 days.

Prices start at $155 per day for an A4 and go up to $1,285 per day for an RS8 V10 Spyder. There is no membership fee and all vehicles feature quattro all-wheel drive, Sirius satellite radio, navigation and premium plus trim.

We expect Audi on Demand to be available in other high-density metros once the service is successfully launched in the Bay Area. Audi is also looking at launching a premium collaborative ownership program called Audi at Home in upscale condominium complexes that would allow owners to share an exclusive fleet of vehicles.

Floyd Mayweather Defeats Manny Pacquiao

Mayweather, already the highest-paid athlete in the world in recent years, is expected to earn an estimated $180 million and Pacquiao around $120 million. Mayweather turned in a vintage performance as he outboxed Manny Pacquiao in a brilliant display to win a unanimous decision in one of the biggest fights in boxing history before a sold-out and star-studded crowd of 16,507 on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Judge Dave Moretti scored the fight 118-110, and judges Glenn Feldman and Bert Clements both had it 116-112. ESPN.com also had it 116-112 for Mayweather, who remains undefeated at 48-0. The massively hyped fight, more than five years in the making, became a global event. While it was not the drama-filled battle many had hoped for, it was an impressive performance from Mayweather, the master boxer, who never allowed the more powerful Pacquiao to deliver any truly big punches as he pulled away in the second half of the fight.

There was so much on the line for the fighters, as Mayweather, already a five-division champion, added Pacquiao’s 147-pound world title to the two he already owned and left no doubt as to the identity of the No.1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

More significantly, Mayweather won the legacy fight, stamping himself as the best fighter of the era he and Pacquiao have shared and dominated. During their great runs, they both won numerous world titles and beat five common opponents, all likely Hall of Famers, in Oscar De La Hoya (already inducted), Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton, Juan Manuel Marquez and Shane Mosley.

Bitcoin Raises $50 Million

Circle, a company that lets users easily send and receive bitcoins, has raised a $50 million funding round led by Goldman Sachs and China’s IDG Capital Partners. Launched in October 2013, Circle had two funding rounds prior to this one — $9 million at time of launch and another $17 million in March 2014. This latest round of funding brings Circle’s total raise to date to $76 million. According to the Wall Street Journal, the round brings the company valuation to around $200 million.

Circle founder and CEO Jeremy Allaire (former CEO of Brightcove, which navigated that company through an IPO in 2012) wrote that the company “could not be happier” with the new investors, and it’s easy to see why. With Bitcoin exchanges failing left and right in the last year or so, sometimes under suspicious circumstances, a banking giant such as Goldman can bring a Bitcoin startup stability and confidence.

Even though Bitcoin exchange Buttercoin was shut down in April due to lack of interest from investors, 2015 has been kind to several Bitcoin startups. Bitcoin trading platform Coinbase raised $75 million in January (with one investor being the New York Stock Exchange), and the Winklevoss twins launched another Bitcoin exchange called Gemini, also in January.

Circle also announced a new feature Wednesday — the ability for users to hold, send, and receive U.S. dollars as well as bitcoins. The new feature is rolling out “selectively” for customers with dollar accounts; Circle plans to open it to more users on a weekly basis until it becomes available for all.
