Has Rock-N-Roll Always Been Apart Of Hip-Hop Culture?

Yes Hip Hop has always been apart of the Rock culture! Rock and Rap song were some of the best ever made still today! For an institution that is dedicated to immortalizing rock and roll’s greatest heroes, there are many inductees in there who are not quite typically thought of as rock artists.

You’ve got Grandmaster Flash, Run-DMC, Miles Davis, Madonna, and Tupac in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The confusion behind these inductees lies not with the quality of their work, but rather the categorization of it.

There are four other artists who have been nominated but have yet to be inducted—Afrika Bambaataa, LL Cool J, Eric B. and Rakim, N.W.A—and four more groups who have been considered for the ballot but who have not yet been nominated—Boogie Down Productions, De La Soul, the Sugarhill Gang, and the Treacherous Three.

Why Ashanti And Ja Rule Had The Empire We All Wanted

Murder Inc. was the record label every company wanted to be. In the early 2000's you couldn't turn on your radio without hearing a Ja Rule and Ashanti song.

Hailing from Hollis, Queens, Ja Rule made his debut in 1999 with his first studio album Venni Vetti Vecci  lead by the single "Holla Holla." From 1999 to 2005, Ja Rule would reign as one of the top-selling hip-hop artists.

Ashanti was discovered as a teenager and signed to Murder Inc. in 2001. After generating buzz following her appearance on Big Pun's "How We Roll,"  she teamed up with Fat Joe and Ja Rule for the hit single, What's Luv?" In 2002, Ashanti released her self-titled album, Ashanti. The album sold over half a million copies within the first week.

In 2001, Ja Rule released his third studio album Pain Is Love. He teamed up with Caddillac Tah, Black Child, and Ashanti on the track "The Inc." While the album had some hit singles, "The Inc." fell short in creating the vibe of a gangsta crew that they were going for.

After the success of Ashanti's first self-titled album in 2002, she didn't wait long to release a follow-up album. Chapter II was released in 2003 and the hit singles, "Rain on Me," "Rock Wit U (Awww Baby)," and "Breakup 2 Makeup" were all on this album.

In 2002, Murder Inc. Records was a force to be reckoned with; the label was producing hit albums and singles under the direction of CEO Irv Gotti. Gotti released the compilation album Irv Gotti Presents: The Inc. The album featured songs from all the artists on the label. "Down 4 You," was the first single off the record and featured Ja Rule, Ashanti, Vita and Charlie Baltimore.

Ja released the remix to "The Pledge" featuring the Queens rapper,  Ashanti, and Tupac Shakur. As usual, Ashanti was on the hook adding her vocals to make the song catchy, and fans ate it up.

When "Always On Time" hit radio airwaves in 2001 it was an instant hit. The song paired with the video introduced fans to Ja Rule and Ashanti as a dynamic duo. The single was Ja Rule's first number 1 hit to top the Billboard Hot 100.

Round Up In Celebrity Lifestyles

What If Biggie and Tupac Were Still Alive?

If Biggie and Tupac were still alive, would half the rappers that's in the music industry be there? Would Jay-Z or Nas gotten as far as they did?

What if both artist would be less relevant if they were alive? Many say their deaths cause the impact of there music being as great as it is, but I feel otherwise.

Tupac's All Eyez on Me album was one of the greatest albums of the 90's if you ask me. All cultures was buying this album and it sold through the roof. Shakur has sold over 75 million records worldwide, so think how many it would be if he never was killed.

Death sells records. As sales of posthumous albums by murdered stars the Notorious B.I.G., Tupac Shakur and Selena have shown, it is increasingly easy to become No. 1 with a bullet.

For instance, the Notorious B.I.G.'s "Life After Death" album, released just two weeks after B.I.G. (Christopher Wallace, a k a Biggie Smalls) was gunned down in Los Angeles, sold 685,000 copies the first week.

In the week after Smalls's death, about 10,000 copies of his 1994 debut, "Ready to Die," were sold, now compare that to Tupac Shakur, who sold 67,000 records in the week following his murder.

Would Tupac and Biggie be considered GOAT rappers if they weren’t killed? What if they were still alive today, would there be mumble rappers? Just think. would the industry have to search so hard for that next big hit? Would album sales have fallen?

Do you think Tupac and Biggie would have settled the beef? How much would be different? Would they still be remembered and praised the same way they are now?

Erotic Drawing Of 2Pac Sold for $21K

Artwork that 2Pac made behind bars for his then-girlfriend Desiree Smith was up for auction. Steiner Auctions is behind the sale of the rare drawing, which shows 2Pac having sex with Smith with the message, 'Missing You Deeply" scrolled across the top.

The late rapper made the drawing for Smith while locked up at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, NY in 1995.

Source

The x-rated drawing that the multi talented Tupac Shakur made for his girlfriend while in prison back in 1995 was recently auctioned off for $21,155.75. TMZ reports a wealthy man in his 60s put in the final bid to secure the drawing of Pac with then-girlfriend Desiree Smith. The art piece also included a hand decorated envelope along with a love letter addressed to Smith.

Tupac had sex on the brain when he was locked up, because his rare hand-drawn love letter to his girlfriend is hitting the auction block ... and the images are extra erotic!!!

Pac was probably humming "How Do U Want It" when he was drafting up this card from jail, because the drawings show him and his girl, Desiree Smith, GETTING IT ON!

Tupac gets kinda mushy with his words, telling Desiree he loves her and misses her deeply (pun surely intended).

Suge Knight Transferred To Prison

Suge arrived Tuesday at Wasco State Prison and from the looks of his miserable mug shot above, it doesn’t seem like the former music mogul is excited about his new spot.

He’ll have to go through physical and mental examinations and review his records before getting settled at Wasco. Depending on the results he can stay there, or be transferred to another prison.

The jail is in the middle of nowhere in Kern County, and has 400 beds. It’s definitely a stretch in comparison to what the former Death Row Records CEO was used to during his prime, celebrating in Hollywood with the likes of Tupac, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.

Suge Knight took a plea deal last month and was sentenced to 28 years in jail. He got credit for time served, but fortunately for him, due to prison overcrowding, he may be out in about 10 years.

According to The Blast, there is enough material available to put out at least three albums from the late rapper.

Eminem Drops MGK Diss 'Killshot'

Eminem
Eminem has released his response to MGK’s “Rap Devil” with his own on record decimation, “Kill Shot.” The four-minute record takes aim at several lines spit by MGK, including the line that calling out Em for not visiting his hometown.

Although Eminem makes a point to show love to Diddy at the end of the track saying, “Oh, and I’m just playin’, Diddy. You know I love you,” some Hip-Hop fans didn’t take too kindly towards the Tupac line.

Eminem Is About To Give It All He Got Again

MGK set the rap world ablaze when he dropped his diss record, “Rap Devil”, in response to Eminem’s initial diss “calling Eminem washed up with misplaced anger and also accused the Detroit veteran of blackballing him in the industry over a tweet in 2012 about his daughter.

Jim Jones Buys Partnership In NFL Team

The Richmond Roughriders of the American Arena League announced that Jones was a co-owner along with Greg Fornario and Michael Kacor. Jim stopped by E Bro in the Morning to explain that he’s getting into football because he “wants to bring culture to the game”.

This was a dream that the late rapper Tupac Shakur envisioned 20 years ago; Rappers owning sports leagues and uniting the youth and urban communities. It’s inspiring to see Pac’s vision come to fruition, and hopefully rapper’s continue to make these boss moves.
