Maryland emcee and Creative Minds founder Jerrod Bowen presents the Unscene productions-directed music video for "Sound Odyssey", the Keylow & Physical Graffiti-guested lead single from Bowen's new album Thelonious, named after the jazz pianist Thelonious Monk. Thelonious also features guest appearances from Mr. Ruckus, Crown Vic, & Klassic Soul, all representing the Creative Minds brand. The entire album is produced by Washington, D.C. beatsmith K-Murdock, who fuses golden-era sounds with live instrumentation. Murdock also produced Bowen's debut album Days Of Grace (Spotify). "Sound Odyssey" is named after a record store in Bowen's hometown of Ocean City and interpolates the jazz classic "Summertime", as the lead single of an album filled with nods to the golden era of hiphop which K-Murdock calls "a labor of love". DJ Vudu Spellz chart-topping produced song “Georgia”, performed by Ludacris and Jamie Foxx, was nominated for best hip-hop collaboration at the 2007 Grammy Awards. DJ Vudu Spellz also has production and writer’s credits on Ludacris’ “Release Therapy” album that won a Grammy for “Best Rap Album Of The Year” at the 2007 Grammy Awards.

DJ Vudu Spellz has produced numerous #1 billboard chart-topping albums and has been blessed to receive two (2) platinum plaques in his first official year as a freshman in the recording industry.

DJ Vudu Spellz has been producing and recording since 1994 but some of DJ Vudu Spellz’s recent NRA projects include Ludacris, Jamie Foxx, Chingy, R.Kelly, Do Or Die, Shawnna, Reuben Studdard, Montell Jordan, Cece Peniston and a host of others. DJ Vudu Spellz guest appearances as a DJ and as a producer include BET’s “106 and Park”, BET’s “Rap City - The Basement”, FOX Channel’s “Fox - In The Morning”, the UPN’s “Reality Hip Hop Show”, and “Girls Gone Wild Spring Break - South Padre”. So it’s safe to say DJ Vudu Spellz’s no stranger to the camera.

DJ Vudu Spellz gets his name from the original word Voodoo which is perceived to be negative. Vudu changed the spelling and put a twist on it with his new definition: “controlling my audience in a positive way through my music, therefore putting a Vudu Spellz on them”.

DJ Vudu Spellz’s New Orleans Gumbo-like style uniquely blends Dirty South, Midwest, East, and West Coast hip-hop. DJ Vudu Spellz produces and spins Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, Top 40, and a taste of many other genres of music making him one of the most versatile producers to hit the market.

His 2002 Midwest Music Award and 2006 Global Mixx DJ Nomination for “Best Hip-Hop Producer” speak for themselves. DJ Vudu Spellz’s national DJ history makes him a hot commodity to any club. Jedstarrr - RETURN OF THE JEDI: GENESIS | Album

 

Brooklyn NY music producer Jedstarrr presents his first compilation project entitled "RETURN OF THE JEDI: GENESIS".

16 different featured artists with various style of sonics and blends. The concept of this project sonically focuses on a "film score esq" soundtrack to paint a visual portrait for the listener while listening to the records. Subject matters being divided into two parts is intentional with the interlude track as the only non artist track on the project.
The first four records fall under part 1 which is unofficially called "WAR". This is to open up on topics around mental health and internal spiritual struggles.
Part 2 is unofficially entitled "RESILIENCE" to focus on upliftment and the opportunity for restoration within one self.

Altogether this project is deemed to take the listener on a ride with the goal to reckon with their own internal challenges with hopes to overcome and be filled with the spirit of revival.

 Vursatyl and Lunden Benard team up with producer Nottz Raw for “Hard On The Boulevard,” a bumping yet topical piece reflecting on real-life issues like police brutality, racism, black disenfranchisement, and more.

With slick bars and creative flows, Vursatyl and Lunden give listeners a look into the way that they see the many shades of gray in today’s black & white society. Listing some of the various ways that being black in America can be an exercise in survival, the two emcees take on a deadly serious topic with a tongue-in-cheek touch that makes the song feel more high-spirited than harrowing.
The production by Nottz has a funky, staccato bounce to it that manages to provide an uprocking backdrop to the rhymes while also managing to shine in its own light.

With witty rhymes and the right kind of beat backing it, “Hard On The Boulevard” is a great way to keep your spirits up in a time when it seems like the world is falling apart around you.
