Both rappers has made there mark in the industry. 50 Cent recently released his book, Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter, in which the rapper speaks on the alleged rift between JAY-Z and Kanye West and why he believes Hov has become "disappointed" with his friend Ye. 50 Cent says his relationship with Jay-Z is purely ''business'' and insists the pair will never be friends.
50 and Jay-Z were involved in a rap ‘beef’ with each other in early 2009, but while neither has said anything publicly to settle their differences, they met backstage when Jay-Z played a huge concert with 50’s mentor, Eminem, at Detroit’s Comerica Park last year, although 50 refuses to say what happened between them.
The Jay-Z vs. Nas beef was a gladiatorial battle between two rap titans. For almost a decade, two of rap's most decorated emcees went at each other's throat.
At one point, they even took a poll about the beef, with 58% of listeners saying they preferred “Ether” to “Supa Ugly”. The consensus seemed to point to Nas as the winner. “Ether” has since become an emblematic diss track, with rappers reinterpreting it for their beef purposes.
Jay Z and Nas' feud was sparked over a Memphis Bleek lyric in 2000's 'My Mind Right', causing the rapper to respond to both Bleek and Jay Z on future mixtape tracks. The feud escalated further when Jay Z called Nas "lame" on 2001's 'The Takeover', prompting Nas to take aim at Jay on 'Ether'. The beef continued in this wild manner until they ended it publicly at the 'I Declare War' concert in Philadelphia in 2005.
Thirty-one years after that classic track dropped, the legendary Long Island posse returns Friday with a new LP, “What You Gonna Do When the Grid Goes Down?” It marks the group’s return to Def Jam, the iconic hip-hop label that they helped build, and features “Fight the Power: Remix 2020,” an all-star update of the 1989 anthem.
The Post spoke to PE leader Chuck D, 60, shortly after Wednesday’s controversial Breonna Taylor decision. Here, he sounds off on being an “OG” in the Black Lives Matter movement, why “Fight the Power” is still relevant and getting the surviving Beastie Boys to record again.

Instead, he built a sprawling empire, including a music label, a sports management company, a streaming service, and a high-end sports bar.
With the Brooklyn-born rapper continuing to grow his net worth, there are certainly many investing lessons to learn, both from his business ventures as well as from his lyrics. Here are three of them.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you had the chance to meet and greet with Nas? What kind of question would you have for him? What type of reaction or vibe do you think you would have? DMX doubles down on wanting to go against JAY-Z in a Verzuz battle. “It's a celebration. We're celebrating music,” DMX said. In the late '90s, Jay-Z and DMX were Def Jam's most successful stars. The friendly rivalry includes several rap battles between the legendary MCs, including their Backstage Freestyle match in 2000. In 1999, they also created the infamous supergroup Murder Inc, which starred both rappers and Ja Rule. Before DMX and Jay Z became international rap titans, they competed in a classic hip-hop war. Their Bronx battle in the early '90s is the stuff of legends and it's also what sparked their ongoing beef, according to Irv Gotti.
At the 1996 Def Jam Holiday Party, tensions between the two camps surged to a boiling point after Ghostface Killah confronted Wish Bone as he was walking through NYC club Mirage (now Terminal 5). According to Cons, a confrontation between members of the Wu-Tang Clan and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony ignited a pretty serious brawl around the height of their fame. At the time, the East Coast and West Coast feud was in full swing, and Ghostface apparently didn’t take too kindly to a rapper signed to Eazy-E’s Los Angeles-based Ruthless Records label hanging out at the NYC hot spot.
