Atlanta's Largest Drug Bust

More than $9 million worth of marijuana was seized Monday; it could be the biggest marijuana bust in Atlanta history, according to narcotics officers with decades of experience fighting drugs on the streets.

It was a tip that led to the nearly 6,000 pounds of marijuana. A call came in around 5 p.m. Monday to report a shipment of drugs moving through the city.

Family Loses Everything

A Georgia family lost nearly all of its possessions when the Craigslist movers it hired disappeared with a loaded truck. An unidentified woman victimized by the theft in Douglas County said that the belongings were worth $75,000.

“Ten years of memories, irreplaceable items, things that my husband and I worked hard for and earned. It’s just gone.” The truck, believed to be stolen, had nothing inside when it was found by police in Atlanta, though the family has mysteriously recovered some of its most important documents.

Birth certificates, death certificates and other essential papers were found when one box was discovered dumped two days later, though an iPad that had been inside was missing. A St. Louis couple across the country fell victim to a similar scheme late last year, paying $1,100 to a company they found on Craigslist and then waiting in vain for their items to show up in North Carolina.

Rocko Arrested

Atlanta rapper Rocko and another man were jailed Friday in Monroe County after the two were reportedly seen racing up Interstate 75 in a Rolls Royce and a BMW. Rocko, whose name is Rodney Ramone Hill Jr., was at the wheel of a late-model Rolls Royce Phantom when a Monroe deputy caught up with him near Forsyth about 1:30 p.m., said sheriff’s Lt. Brad Freeman.

Hill, 36, was not cited for speeding because the cars had slowed considerably when deputies spotted them, Freeman said. But Hill, also known as Rocko Da Don, was arrested on a pair of charges that included driving with a suspended license. The driver of a BMW that had been heading north with Hill kept going at speeds in excess of 150 mph, Freeman said.

Deputies found the BMW backed in at a gas station at the Johnsonville Road exit, a few miles north of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. Its driver, Jason Philbert Wright, 26, of Decatur, faces felony fleeing-and-eluding charges and a string of traffic violations, a jail official said.

Hill, who according to his Wikipedia page has children with R&B singer Monica, scored a 2013 hit with the song “U.O.E.N.O.” His 2008 hip-hop album “Self Made” was also popular. Rolls Royces like the one he was said to be driving Friday cost about $500,000. But the license plate on it had expired and Hill was cited.

“You’d think a man with a Rolls Royce could afford a tag. But apparently not,” Freeman said. When Wright, the guy in the Beemer, didn’t stop, the deputy who had pulled over Hill gave chase, Freeman said. Hill later showed up at the Johnsonville Road exit — apparently to check on Wright, who was in custody, Freeman said.

By then, deputies had learned that Hill’s license was suspended and that his tag had expired, and they arrested him, Freeman said. Freeman said Wright was “part of (Hill’s) entourage, for lack of a better term.”

The Church Of Beyonce

Rumors are that +Beyonce has her name across a Church in Atlanta, Ga. The rumors are true. The National Church of Bey, an organization that recently formed the new religion Beyism, is a real organization based in Atlanta, Georgia. Although BeyoncĂ© herself is not believed to be a part of it, she is the foundation of it and has so far not made a statement denouncing it.

The church’s founder, Pauline John Andrews, recently stated, “We are very disappointed in the failure of the public to recognize the existence of a divine Deity walking among them. Deity’s often walk the Earth in their flesh form. BeyoncĂ© will transcend back to the spirit once her work here on Mother Earth has been completed.” They believe that Beyonce “sits among the throne of Gods”.

Reportedly, The National Church Of Bey is also looking to expand outside of the Atlanta area. According to them, they already have parishes popping up all over the United States, Canada, and England. He adds, “We have published the Beyble and it will soon be available for free to the public. Donations have poured in and we will soon have enough to build a temple in honor of Mother Bey. We will invite her to speak to her flock, once the doors are open.”

Apollo Nida Charged With Bank Fraud and Identity Theft

Apollo Nida is worried big time!  The Real Housewives of Atlanta star was reportedly charged with bank fraud and identity theft and has surrendered to the U.S. Marshals. Nida appeared in front of US District Judge Brill and he was granted a pretrial bond.

This is significant because he is currently on state parole in Georgia, and due to the seriousness of his crime the charges usually trigger a state parole violation unless he is cooperating with the government.

Rick Ross Buys Evander Holyfield’s Mansion

Rapper +Rick Ross has purchased professional boxer +Evander Holyfield mansion. Rick Ross just moved into the biggest single-family home in Georgia, a 109-room mansion with a dining room that sits 100 guests, and a pool that holds 350,000 gallons of water. From Meek Mill‘s recent Instagram, it looks like the Miami rapper is right at home in Atlanta.

Rick Ross purchased the mansion a year after heavyweight champ Evander Holyfield lost it to foreclosure—he owed the bank a whopping $14 million. This summer the Atlanta residence, which is actually located in Fayetteville County, Ga., went back on the market for $8.2 million, but it hasn’t been revealed how much Rick Ross dropped on the mansion. At auction, the starting bid was $2.5 million.

With 235 acres to be mowed, along with a movie theater and bowling alley, it will cost the new homeowner $17,000 in electricity bills and another $1 million a year just to maintain the property. Congrads +RICK ROSS
