A pastor of a church dropped dead after confessing adultry to the congregation. A pastor from Connecticut dropped dead in front of his congregation after making a public confession of infidelity. Bishop Bobby Davis, pastor of Miracle Faith World Outreach Church, was forced to confess after being publicly confronted by his family. Christine, the pastor’s wife of 50 years, urged him to come clean.
Immediately after Sunday service a family member of the Bishop requested that just the members of the congregation remain for a special word from their pastor. An elder of the church, Judy Stovall, said Davis confessed to them an affair that happened a long time ago. He wanted to come clean with his church and ask for forgiveness.
Stovall said the pastor fell out as the people cheered forgiveness. As he lay on the floor Stovall reported that she held his head. She said the congregation loved him and had no problem forgiving him; they are now hurting at the loss of their leader.
The Christian Post shared an interview with a source who requested to remain anonymous. This source said the situation could have gone much smoother had it been handled differently. Apparently the source was not present because they said their information was based on what they were told.
Allegedly the pastor confessed his infidelity to his wife before the service. His wife, in turn, decided to call a meeting so that Davis could be open and honest with his members. Neither the pastor nor his wife was present in the morning service; instead one of the elders presided over the service.
During a meeting after service the pastor’s wife told the members what her husband had done. According to the source, as his wife was talking Davis walked into the meeting unaware of what was really taking place. The pastor’s wife immediately turned to him as he walked in and said, “Tell them what you just told me.” The source believes the shock of this is what induced the pastor’s heart attack.
