Beyonce's "Lemonade" Wins Album of the Decade

The Associated Press has named their Top 15 albums of the decade and Beyoncé’s 2016 opus Lemonade is number one. According to the international news agency’s music editor Mesfin Fekadu, the international global icon was riding the wave of success for much of the earlier part of the decade with numerous Grammy Awards.

At the beginning of this decade, Beyoncé was already the greatest singer of her generation. She won a record six Grammys in a single night, had women AND MEN “oh-oh-oh’ing” to the fun sound of “Single Ladies” and continued to be a beast of a performer.

The usually private Beyoncé bares her soul on the album, singing about a troubled relationship, black pride and motherhood in a brave way. Lyrically, she’s on point and honest over beats and sounds that range from rap to rock to country and pop. “Who the (expletive) do you think I am,” she brashly asks on “Don’t Hurt Yourself,” which co-stars Jack White. The answer: the greatest of all time.

You can listen or stream the album below!

What Would A Battle Between DMX And Jay-Z Be Like?

Before DMX and Jay Z became international rap titans, they competed in a classic hip-hop war. Even with all that feuding in the past, Hov and X have collaborated on a bunch of songs, including "It's Murda" and "Blackout." They even almost formed a group with Ja Rule.

In 1999, Jay Z and DMX embarked (and majorly cashed in) on the Hard Knock Life Tour. Although Jay Z’s album gave the tour its name, the lineup was a joint headliner of the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder and DMX.

Captured in the documentary film Backstage, Jay Z and DMX had vastly different demeanors on wax, on stage, and as celebrities. While both were pillars of Rap-made-right and suddenly sex symbols, they only overlapped in skill and love of the art.

"The rap game kept changing. It created a platform for artist such as Beyonce and Nelly. The list just keeps going with artist that took off such as Soulja Boy and D4L. Now we are in a section on the community of music where gays and the LGBT communities are taking over. Young Thug and more are hitting harder than most could imagine.

Hip Hop & Drug Culture

We make excuses for the negative impact of rap music because it has given so many young black males a way out of the hood; but for every ONE that it gives an exit, it entraps thousands more.

Top 5 Remy Ma Hot Photos

The Wrap-Up Magazine has released the top 5 hottest photos of female rapper Remy Ma. Remy Ma, formerly Rémy Martin, is a Grammy-nominated American rapper and former member of Big Pun's rap crew, Terror Squad.
Remy Ma, Niki Minaj and Rah Digga are probably three of the hardest female Mc's of all time. Remy Ma has been released from prison, a representative from her camp has confirmed it July 28th.
Remy Ma sits down with VIBE to talk about her kids, her marriage to fellow New York rapper Papoose. Papoose became known to the public when he appeared in 1998 on Kool G Rap's album. Remy Ma freestyles over over Bobby Shmurda's 'Hot Nigga.'In case you missed it (you probably didn't), Remy Ma is back.
You would figure Remy Ma's last days in prison would be better because she was closer to getting out, but to the contrary – they were her worst she stated. Papoose is floating on Cloud 9 since Remy Ma was released from prison.

Drake Named Best Male Pop Artist 2018

A pop star, a rap star, just what category does we suppose to fit Drake in? Drake is king of Billboard’s 2018 year-end charts, as the superstar leads the year-end Top Artists ranking.

The 32-year-old rapper-singer is the first rap act to be the overall top artist of the year since 2005 and just the third rap artist to lead the category.

Billboard’s year-end music recaps are based on chart performance on Billboard’s charts dated Dec. 2, 2017, to Nov. 17, 2018. The year-end Top Artists category ranks the best-performing acts of the year based on activity on the Billboard 200 albums tally and the Billboard Hot 100 songs list, as well as streaming, social media and Billboard Boxscore data.

On the 2018 year-end Hot 100 Songs roundup, Drake rules with “God’s Plan,” which spent 11 weeks leading the weekly Hot 100 tally. It was the first of three Hot 100 chart-toppers, thus far, from his Scorpion album. Drake followed “God’s Plan” with the No. 1s “Nice for What” and “In My Feelings,” spending a combined 29 weeks at No. 1 -- breaking the record for the most weeks atop the list by an artist in a year.

Rihanna Says She Just Wants to 'Have Fun With Music'

It’s been four years since Rihanna released an album but the singer is working hard on recording new music. The pop star, 32, told The Associated Press for her new album she’s already held “tons of writing camps” — where songwriters are put into groups to create original tracks for artists. Now, she said she’s asked herself the questions: “What do I feel personally? What do I want to put out, and as an artist, how do I want to play it with my art? How do I want to interpret that?”

“How do I want to reimagine it because it’s been so structured before,” Rihanna continued in a recent interview. The multi-genre artist who has won Grammys in the R&B, dance and rap categories added: “You do pop, you did this genre, you do that, you do radio, but now it’s just like, what makes me happy? I just want to have fun with music. Everything is so heavy. The world that we live in is a lot. It’s overwhelming every single day. And with the music, I’m using that as my outlet.”

Sean Diddy Combs Retires After 1 More Album

(The Wrap-Up Magazine) The Bad Boy of hip hop is retiring from the rap game. The Bad Boys record mogul, who covers the June issue of Cigar Aficionado, told the magazine his last album will be “No Way Out 2,” the follow-up to 1997’s “No Way Out” featuring his best friend, the late Notorious B.I.G. The release date of his final work is unknown.

“I want to stop at a great place. And a final album is a great place to stop. I want to take a victory lap, to do a world tour and really enjoy it once last time.” Diddy has starred in films such as “Training Day,” “Monster’s Ball,” “Get Him to the Greek” and “Rush Hour 4″ under his birth name, Sean Combs.

“When I’m gone, only the songs will survive. I know I’m making music that will live on. I don’t go into the studio just to be hot or to hear myself on the radio,” Diddy said in the interview. “Michael Jackson, Tupac, Biggie — part of them lives on in their music, even though they’re not here anymore. That’s really deep, man. The only thing like that is religion.”

His Bad Boy Family Reunion tour kicks off May 20 at the Barclays Center and will feature appearances by Jay Z, Mary J. Blige, Lil Kim, Mase, Faith Evans, 112, Total, The Lox, and Carl Thomas.
