But I’m having a great time finishing up the new season of American Saga.”
Reservoir has acquired the groundbreaking hip-hop and electronic label Tommy Boy Music for around $100 million.
Although the press release does not mention the amount, a SEC filing has revealed the price of the deal to buy the New York-based label. Square Inc. disclosed late Friday that it has officially added Shawn Carter as a board member of the credit-card payments processing company after closing a deal with the music-streaming service Tidal.
Jay-Z is co-founder and majority owner of entertainment company Roc Nation LLC, from which Square will sublease nearly 16,000 square feet of office space in New York City for $1.5 million a year, with an option to extend the sublease for two additional six-month terms, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. Roc Nation and Square also reached a marketing agreement between Square and Carter that will lead to a $200,000 commission for Roc Nation.

The 64-year-old father of rapper Nicki Minaj has died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Long Island, police said. Robert Maraj was walking along a road in Mineola at 6:15 p.m. Friday when he was hit by a car that kept going, Nassau County police said. Maraj was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead Saturday.
"We just saw a jacket ripped open, cut open, trying to make sure the man had a pulse," she said. "All I hoped for was the person to have a pulse and survive. I'm speechless. I don't know what to say."
