Jermaine Dupri Talks The Rap Game
Jermaine Dupri talked exclusively to HipHopDX about the pros and cons of kid rappers on his new Lifetime show "The Rap Game." Jermaine Dupri currently has his hands full creating the next big rap star on his reality show The Rap Game. But, he also has his sights set on catapulting the career of another young artist.
Lifetime's latest reality show "The Rap Game" is only two episodes in, but it's already knee-deep in drama. In the previously aired "Welcome to Atlanta", coach Jermaine Dupri found out that one of the rappers, Supa Peach, is lying about writing her own lyrics, while the upcoming episode "Style and Swagga" will see him schooling the kids about being disrespectful.
In the promo for season 1 episode 3, the kids are all asked to describe themselves in one word, and of course, their descriptions were all self-praising, and ranged from "futuristic" to "fashion forward". Supa Peach describes herself as someone who thinks outside the box.
The kids, however, seem to be getting lost in their own awesomeness and forgetting to acknowledge and appreciate those around them. The young rappers do not seem to understand the value of having someone to coach them and critique them during their journey to stardom.
When a coach is speaking to the group, Supa Peach is seen making faces and rapping, making Jermaine wonder if she is even paying attention. Jermaine makes it clear that he will not stand for somebody insulting someone, and tells the young rapper, "You was rapping when she was talking.. that is disrespectful."

#NewMusic Mariah Carey - Save The Day
With heartfelt, affecting vocals delivering a timely message ("We're in this together"; "it's curious, the fear still holding us down"), a few classic Mariah high notes and a sick beat drop courtesy Jermaine Dupri that accompanies the entrance of Ms. Lauryn Hill's voice (sampled from the Fugees' Grammy-winning "Killing Me Softly With His Song"), "Save the Day" is pure MC goodness.

Justin Love - "The Weekend" @_iSingHipHop
Cliffside Park, NJ singer/songwriter/producer Justin Love presents the music video for his new single "The Weekend". Justin's work has been praised by Nicki Minaj, Alicia Keys, Jermaine Dupri and others. Co-writer of the 2016 smash hit "Focus" by H.E.R, Justin's sound can be described trap hip-hop meets R&B soul.
Recently opening for PnB RocK, the self-taught, 22-year-old musician honed his performance skills the same way he built his large following: with nothing but his voice and a Bluetooth speaker, singing to random people at malls and beaches in his suburban hometown until he couldn’t show his face without being mobbed for autographs.
