See The Best Eminem Cars Out Of His Massive Collection (Photos)

Two things are essential to Eminem when buying a new car: fuel economy of at least eight miles per gallon and satellite navigation so he can’t lose himself. Beyond those simple requirements, there’s speed. Lots and lots of speed.

Marshall Mathers III, who turns 48 today, has a penchant for Porsches and very fine Ferraris. Given he rewrote the rules of hip-hop in the late 1990s, exploded the genre in Middle America and around the world and sold more records in the 2000s than any other artist, Eminem can afford a garage stuffed with exotica.

Will Kanye West Surpass Jay-Z?

For the better part of hip-hop’s existence, it was solely considered a genre of music. We now recognize the larger cultural movement surrounding the New York-bred art form as a leading force driving growth in fashion, entertainment, food and beverage, and technology. As a result, the top 10 highest earners of 2019 on Forbes’ annual list of hip-hop’s richest account for a staggering $633,500,000 in combined earnings. And for the first time in his career, Kanye West ($150 million) has outpaced the rest of his competitors to take the top spot — leapfrogging JAY-Z by $69 million.

It was certainly a banner year for West, especially considering he claimed to be $56 million in debt just over three years ago. While earning the top spot is certainly noteworthy, his income jumped dramatically between 2018 and 2019, accounting for a net increase of $122,500,000. Although the entire industry had a great year — with the top 20 acts’ revenue increasing by 33 percent since 2018 — the huge financial increase poses an interesting question: with an album on the way, YEEZY accounting for $1.5 billion in annual sales, and a track record of exploring radical projects, will Kanye West be joining JAY-Z in the billionaire’s club?

Facebook Launch Three New Portal Devices

Facebook announced three new hardware products today focused on video calling and augmented reality, doubling down on its voice assistant products that will compete with similar devices from Google and Amazon.

The second-generation Portal, the new Portal Mini and new Portal TV each feature a camera and a set of microphones, and combine video calls with augmented reality features such as multiplayer games and 3D camera lenses.

All three devices, priced $129 to $179, are available for preorder starting today in the U.S., Canada and Europe.

Companies like Google and Facebook generally hope to gain insights about consumer behavior through persistent interactions with their products that are eventually used for targeted advertising.

Facebook launched its first Portal device amid intense scrutiny of its privacy practices from U.S. and European regulators in 2018, prompting backlash from several tech reviewers. Facebook is also adding a new privacy option to all Portal devices that allows users to view, listen and delete any of their voice interactions using the Facebook Activity Log.

The devices will also be the first to run Facebook’s updated Portal operating system that was announced at the company’s annual F8 developer conference. In a surprising move, Facebook is adding Alexa skills including flash briefings, smart home controls and Amazon Prime Video to all of its Portal devices.

Inside Ferrari's New SF90 Stradale

Ferrari, one of the last bastions of petrol supremacy, has turned the corner on electrical motorvation and has giveth the sports car world a stunning plug-in hybrid supercar.

The new SF90 Stradale does indeed feature an obligatory turbo-charged V8 for its primary power source, but a 7.9kWh lithium-ion battery and three electric motors are also along for the ride, and will give owners of the sleek new machine an until now very un-Ferrari experience: over 20 miles of driving in all-electric silence.

The SF90 also isn't the first hybrid supercar by any stretch, with Porsche's 918 and the Koenigsegg Regera going electric at some level first. But it is a true first for Ferrari and without a doubt a harbinger of cars to come.

While the SF90 will feature the latest in gear-changing tech with a dual-clutch 8-speed gearbox, there's not going to be a mechanical reverse gear; that chore will be handled by the electric motors. Saves weight and simplifies things, according to Ferrari.

The car will also feature a new slate of multiple drive modes including the aforementioned electric only, along with a hybrid "eco" mode, and a full-power mode. The traditional red toggle ride mode selector is present on the steering wheel and Ferrari has even paid homage to the hallowed gated shifter with a central set of control switches set in the familiar pattern.

Inside, the SF90 appears to be a comfortable spot to command all that power, and the cockpit is festooned with touch screens for all manner of duties, including both a highly configurable 16-inch command center behind the wheel and a Head-Up Display (HUD) that projects pertinent information into the windshield.

The SF90's exterior design is striking and softly geometric, and from above, the rear section somewhat (ironically) recalls the Ford GT's split "wing" design.

Price? Not specified just yet but seeing as how this will be their halo car and it's packed with every new technology Ferrari can muster, a seven-digit number is not out of the question. But think of how much you'll save on gas!

Watch Ford’s Delivery Robot That Walks On Two Legs

Ford partnered with Agility Robotics to create Digit, a two-legged robot that could deliver your packages straight to your door in the future. Ford claims this robot can carry packages up to 40 pounds, navigate stairs, and go around unexpected obstacles.

When the self-driving delivery vans finally arrive, it's going to be a challenge getting packages from the vehicle to the doorstep. That's where Ford's partnership with Digit – a bipedal robot from Agility Robotics – comes in handy.

The humanoid can also fold up, so it stows away in the back of the delivery van ready to unfold and carry packages once the van arrives.

Man Does Doughnuts on Airport Before Being Arrested

Now this is how you go down in a bang. With the right move, this could plunged the young man into stardom if he know it or not.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested after ramming his car through a security fence at Pensacola International Airport in Florida, speeding down an active runway at around 100 mph, and then doing doughnuts with his vehicle.

Carlson drove his Ford Mustang from the runway to a grassy area, where he did doughnuts, before speeding into an open hangar, where he continued doing doughnuts until police arrived.

Wood said that no air traffic was affected due to Carlson’s stunt, as no airlines were on the runway at the time.

Carlson was charged with criminal mischief and trespassing, though more charges may be added, Fox 10 reports. Authorities do not believe the man was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. They have also ruled out terrorism as a motive.

Ohio Bank Pays Off Moms Student Loan Dept For Christmas

One lucky woman in Ohio just received her student loan dept paid off by surprise by an Ohio Bank. A 30-year-old nurse and single mother was given the surprise of her life when a bank paid of the rest of her student loans just before the holidays. Now that's a Christmas gift to remember.

On Wednesday, Jasmin Ford thought she was just participating in a documentary about student loans; little did she know, her $150,000 student loan debt was about to be lifted off her shoulders.

Source

Ford was the first in her family to graduate from college and eventually received a Master’s degree in nursing years later. However, with no financial help from family, she was forced to take out massive student loans just to cover tuition, food, rent, and other necessities.

“I could not foresee when I’d be able to pay it off,” Ford said of her debt. “I just knew this was going to be a part of my life as long as I was alive unless there was some significant change, which -- wow.”

Ford’s surprise was made possible by Fifth Third Bank, which selected her to be in a documentary on student loan debt.  On the day of the big gift, Ford just thought the film crew was coming back to shoot some additional video. Then they revealed her student loan debt was gone.

“I still can’t find the words,” Ford said Thursday. “I’m off work again today and I’m just sort of pacing around and restless because I know my life is going to change.”

Ford said life will also change for her son, Caleb. Previously, Ford worked two jobs almost every day of the week. Now, she can’t wait to pull back on work and spend more time with her family.

“I just imagine being able to spend more time physically with my family, not having to hustle, having mental freedom and with that, some spiritual freedom,” she said. “I can open myself to more experiences, opportunities and just be able to sit and be with my thoughts and be able to pursue what it is I came to do.”

“His life will be totally different,” she added. “I’m so happy and so proud that I’m able to offer that to him more than anything else because he deserves it.”

Cardi B’s' New Lipstick Sells Out

Cardi B
If you head over to tomford.com there is no way to purchase the lipstick. The shade, which is an interesting decision considering Cardi’s blood ties, debuted at Tom Ford’s most recent Boys and Girls collection at their Spring/Summer 2019 NYFW show.

Naming colors after celebrities is a tradition at the brand. Naomi Campbell, Dakota Johnson, and Julianne Moore are a few women who have been gifted with their own shade. This year the brand also released an orchid lipstick named after Black Panther breakout star, Letitia Wright. Counting Cardi’s, there are 15 new Boys shades and 15 new Girls shades.

News of Cardi B’s sold out lipstick comes when pop stars and influences are killing the beauty game. Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty turned a year old last week. Kylie Jenner’s cosmetic line made her a billionaire and will be available in Ulta Beauty soon.

The Car Vending Machine

It’s finally here, the giant ‘car vending machine’ once was a fantasy is now a reality and it is open for business in China. Ford and Alibaba teamed up to design a massive machine, located in Guangzhou, China, and offers a variety of vehicles for three-day test drives. The five-story contraption, which holds 42 vehicles in all, is essentially a Ford-branded garage with rotating platforms, similar in design to parking garages commonly seen in Japanese cities and other countries in Asia.

You have to pay via an app before turning up to collect the car from the vending machine labelled the “Super Test-drive Center.”

So this how it works, you simply browse the app for the car you’d like to take out for a spin and then take a selfie. This enables the vending machine’s facial recognition technology to confirm your booking, and presumably also gives the cops a decent image to work with if you fail to return the car.

When you arrive at the Super Test-drive Center, you’ll need to tap on the digital display so the machine can match your face with your car selection. No, the car doesn’t drop into a tray like a regular vending machine. The machinery grinds into action, with your chosen vehicle brought down to ground level in just a few minutes. The system lets you test up to two cars consecutively, which ensures you don’t end up “test driving” Ford cars for life rather than making an actual purchase. But if you have a decent credit score, calculated according to previous Alipay transactions, you can try out the cars for free. Otherwise you’ll have to pay a fee, though exactly how much isn’t immediately clear.

Self Driving Car Service Coming Soon

They about to get ready to cut Taxi drivers out of a job! GM plans to get its autonomous cars driving commercially around cities by 2019. That’s according to a presentation posted on the automaker’s website, which stated that at its current rate, GM expects “commercial launch at scale” to happen after next year.

That includes commercial use for both item delivery and passenger carrying. The latter could refer to the autonomous taxi fleet of Bolt EVs GM plans to launch in 2018, which its preparing for with additional testing. The could offer its own service as well, given how much things have cooled between GM’s autonomous Cruise division and Lyft.)

Ford To Cut Jobs Worldwide

Ford Motor is making plans to cut about 10% of its global staff, which could mean about 20,000 jobs worldwide. Ford reportedly plans to shrink its salaried workforce in North America and Asia by about 10 percent as it works to boost profits and its sliding stock price. Ford is going to cut 10% of its workforce, focusing on salaried individuals. This is painful but is exactly the right thing to do as sales and margins are coming.

New MAX Motor Dreams With Smartphone App

Ford announced the development of MAX Motor Dreams, a crib that simulates the motion, engine noise and even street lighting of those nighttime drives, right from the comfort of your own home.

“After many years of talking to mums and dads, we know that the parents of newborns are often desperate for just one good night’s sleep,” said MAX Motor Dreams designer Alejandro Lopes Bravo in a press release. “But while a quick drive in the family car can work wonders in getting baby off to sleep, the poor old parents still have to be awake and alert at the wheel.”

Top 5 Cars Coming In 2018

Give it a few years and the car you drive now will look like the vehicular equivalent of a flip phone in 2016. And that cheap '90s beater that gets you around today will look like the Bakelite rotary dial phone your grandparents had. So considering today's car's forthcoming obsolescence, what will your auto be able to do in the future?

To those of us still driving cars built in the '90s, a 2016 edition vehicle can seem like something out of Star Trek. Automatic lights and wipers, integrated touchscreens, tire pressure monitors, independent passenger climate control, seat-back entertainment, automatic parking.

While the current BMW 7 series allows you to control stereo volume and answer phone calls with a movement of your finger, in the near future you will be able to do a lot more. Integrating movement sensors with a large screen, BMW's "AirTouch" will allow you to interact with car systems with hand gestures as if you were using a touch screen.

BMW will be revealing a "vision car" at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January 2016 that will offer a preview of what the system will look like. But you will have to wait a little longer before you can wave hello to one in your own car.
Hands-free driving might not sound like a giant leap—cars are already parking themselves after all. But in the not too distant future, your car will be able to take over a much larger share of the driving. Several manufacturers are developing systems that will allow the vehicle to be aware of its position in the road and automatically provide control inputs. Volkswagen is working on a system that uses cameras to monitor your car's road position.

The closest thing to a traditional superpower on this list, laser headlights would provide you with unprecedented vision at night. Audi and BMW are both developing headlights that bounce lasers off mirrors to create a diffused white beam and light the road up to 600 yards ahead.
Driving in convoy, or "platooning" as the technique is known, offers a number of advantages over standard driving. But this isn't just a bunch of people driving in a line. Rather, by using a system of radar and WiFi technology, all the cars in the line could rapidly communicate and coordinate speed changes.

Using advanced synthetic fuels would allow companies to produce highly efficient engines and reduce the impact on the environment created by both the production and consumption of fuels. All this will make your car more efficient, quieter, and cleaner—or alternatively faster and louder if that's your thing (but still with reduced emissions).
As early as 2017, you might start seeing technology on your car that allows it to communicate with the cars around it. Dubbed V2V (vehicle to vehicle), the technology allows cars to track each other and communicate location and movement information. A trial is being run in Ann Arbor, Michigan by the University of Michigan, and the Department of Transportation has 3000 vehicles equipped with prototype devices.
Cars may soon be equipped with technology that can monitor your physical condition, from heart rate to blood alcohol content, and much more besides. A system being developed by Ford can monitor a diabetic's blood sugar level and warn if it drops too far.

Do African American College Students Graduate With More Debt?

The report concluded that HBCU students borrow money at greater rates and amounts than the average college student.  Therefore, it is more difficult for them to repay their student loans post-graduation.  25 percent of HBCU graduates borrowed more than $40,000, four times more than non-HBCU grads.

Cheryl Smith, United Negro College Fund senior VP for public policy and government affairs, said, "Recently, some analysts have questioned whether the student debt crisis is real. For HBCU students, who increasingly are on the hook for financing college costs, the crisis is ever so real."

According to a new study by the United Negro College Fund, students who graduate from historically black colleges and universities do so with far more debt than their counterparts in non-HBCUs.

The study, titled, "Fewer Resources, More Debt: Loan Debt Burdens Students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities," used data from undergraduates who attended four-year public and private HBCUs.
