FSG partners with Eminem

Jimmy Iovine co-founded Interscope Records in the early 1990s and played a huge role in the funding and set-up of Death Row Records. It was Jimmy Iovine who signed Tupac Shakur to his first recording contract and it was Jimmy Iovine who played an enormous role in launching the careers of Dr Dre and Eminem. So strong was his relationship with Dr Dre they co-founded the hugely successful Beats Electronics (popularly known as Beats by Dre) business in 2006, a business that would dominate the sector and that the duo would eventually sell for $3bn to Apple in 2014. James was also a silent investors in Beats when it was sold to Apple.

FSG are also likely to expand their reach into other avenues to grow the business, something hinted at by the arrival of one of the legends and pioneers who made hip-hop mainstream, record executive Jimmy Iovine, who invested into FSG late last year and is now listed as one of the firm's partners.

The list of current FSG partners currently stands at 30. For some minority partners in the Liverpool owners they are passive investors, for others the skill set that they bring allows for the business to navigate its way through a changing landscape with regards to tech and media, and helps them maximize their chances of delivering value and increasing revenues.
