How To Stay Motivated When You Workout At Home

Working out at home can become a very difficult task if you do not have the motivation to do so on a regular bases. One of the biggest advantages of having a home gym is that you can exercise whenever you want and not just when the gym is open.

Home gyms are also more convenient than gym memberships because they're right at home, making it a lot easier for you to fit workouts into your day. You can also use furniture as exercise equipment; try box squats or step ups on chairs.

Do bodyweight exercises. Planks, push-ups, squats, jumping jacks and step-ups are all great ways to get moving! If you are prepared to put a little time and effort into your workout at home, it can be just as effective as a gym workout.

You can gain muscle mass even without going to the gym, by doing only body weight workout and keeping yourself in a caloric surplus. You need to be hitting the weights at least three days per week. At the very least, training a minimum of two days per week is needed to maximize muscle growth. How you structure your workouts and the amount of days you devote to strength training depends on your current fitness level.

Try these ideas:

1. Remember your goals. Write them down and remember when you set them.

2. Get some support. Have a friend email a workout reminder or tell someone about your goals so you're held accountable.

3. Set new goals. If your goals aren't motivating now, set a new goal to complete your workout that day.
