Are Americans out of poverty?

The child tax credit helped push a key measure of poverty to its lowest level on record, according to new Census Bureau data Tuesday that signaled just how critical government assistance was to propping Americans up in the second year of the coronavirus pandemic.

Median income remained essentially static in 2021, and the official poverty rate did as well. But the Supplemental Poverty Measure, which adjusts for government assistance like tax credits and stimulus checks, dropped 1.4 percentage points to 7.8%.

Wu-Tang Clan - Where Are They Now?

Wu-Tang Clan music was raw, grimy, laced with kung-fu references, and featured tongue-in-cheek lyrics over top of distorted soul samples. Quite frankly, it was like nothing else we’d ever heard before, and to this day, their music remains unquestionably singular with their debut album, “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)” going onto be considered one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time.

How Society Sees Black Educated Men

It's an open secret among African-American men and boys that people are often afraid of them. For black Americans, experiences of racial discrimination vary by education level and gender.

A majority of black adults say they have been discriminated against because of their race, but this varies by education. Roughly eight-in-ten blacks with at least some college experience (81%) say they’ve experienced racial discrimination, at least from time to time, including 17% who say this happens regularly. Among blacks with a high school education or less, these shares are lower – 69% and 9%, respectively.

As of lately, even I have been running into altercation dealing with racism. Being educated and a employer in my city has come with many challenges. I have received backlash from both Whites and Blacks.

Located on the upscale Star Island, the waterfront home comes complete with 10 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms.

Boom Boom Knuckles New Journey

Alexsandrina “Boom Boom Knuckles” Mavrianos is an entrepreneur changing the music industry one deal at a time. The New Jersey based go-getter sets the bar high while making good business an even higher priority. Starting as an artist herself at a young age, Boom Boom Knuckles started realizing she was destined to help talented individuals get the recognition they deserve.

Her father, who was her number one supporter saw her vision and built a music studio in her basement. When the doors would shut her father was there to help any way he could to get them to open. When he passed away, Boom was devastated and completely stopped doing music. After years of not doing what she loved the most, something clicked that would change her look on the industry entirely. She knew that guiding and teaching others as her father did would bring the peace and clarity of what the young mogul was searching for. “Ive come along way. Ive been through hell and back but learned so much along the way. If I can help someone get where they need to be I will. Its just in my nature. And I thank my father for that.”

In celebration of International Women's Day Monday, the pop star shared a video compilation on Instagram featuring several of her famous friends, including Alicia Keys, Andra Day, Vanessa Bryant, Regina King, Tiffany Haddish, Gabrielle Union and Zaya Wade.

The video features each star holding up a self-made sign that reads "I am limitless" to Lope's song "Limitless" in honor of the holiday. Arianna Huffington, Becky G, Camila Alves McConaughey, Charlie D'Amelio, Ciara, Constance Wu, Drew Barrymore, Ellen DeGeneres, Hoda Kotb, Kris Jenner, Leah Remini, Lupe Lopez, and Mindy Kaling all also make appearances in the compilation.

"To all the mothers, daughters, sisters and incredibly magnificent and diverse women of the world...I celebrate you!!! I celebrate us!!!" Lopez, 51, wrote in the caption. "Here is to International Women's Day today and every day!!"

"We need to continue to use our voices, stand up and GET LOUD for everything and that we believe in," she added. "These women empower other women and truly embody all it is to be #LIMITLESS. You are limitless. We are ALL Limitless!!!"
