Hospital Worker Infects Patients

A hospital worker is behind bars after he intentionally infected dozens of people with hepatitis C. The 34-year-old admitted to stealing painkillers and replacing them with saline syringes, which were contaminated with blood.

The traveling medical technician has been sentenced to 39 years in prison for infecting dozens of patients in four states with hepatitis C through contaminated syringes. Kwiatkowski had managed to move from one job to the other despite having been fired at least four times on charges of drug use and theft.
