Five Shot At Nightclub

A Stamford man was arrested after five people were shot outside of Tino’s Nightclub. Police said they responded to 84 West Park Place a little before 2 a.m. Sunday where numerous gunshots were fired. Police also said they secured several crime scenes within two blocks of the downtown area.

Police arrested Dayron Wills, of 300 Tresser Blvd., Apt. No. 7E, Stamford, who admitted to being involved in the shooting and said he dropped his loaded handgun near the intersection of Atlantic Street and Bank Street. Wills said he was involved in an altercation outside of the nightclub and pulled out his handgun and began shooting the other person involved in the altercation.

Police said Wills has a valid pistol permit and was legally registered to carry the weapon. Officers said they found a small amount of marijuana from Wills, and police were able to use video evidence of Wills firing shots into a crowd. All five victims, four males and one female, were transported to Stamford Hospital for treatment and all of the injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
