Third Graders Busted Smoking Weed

Three third-graders were caught smoking marijuana in the bathroom of a California elementary school. Two eight-year-olds and a nine-year-old were discovered smoking weed in the bathroom at Sonora Elementary School in Sonora, Calif. by another student on Feb. 27. The student made school administrators aware, and they immediately contacted police. Following questioning, the students were released to their parents.

Though Principal Chris Boyles declined comment, Superintendent Leigh Shampain confirmed the incident. Some parents are calling for the students to be expelled, but Shampain refused to disclose the disciplinary action the school will take. CBS San Francisco adds that, in the interim, the case has been passed along to the Tuolumne County Probation Department.

Man Busted Having Sex With Pit Bull

A Florida man is behind bars for allegedly having sex with a pit bull in his yard as shocked neighbors pleaded with him to stop. Tampa police were called to the house of Bernard Marsonek Tuesday afternoon after the 57-year-old was reportedly witnessed performing the sick act in broad daylight.

“When officers arrived on scene, they were greeted by a small crowd of residents who were disturbed by their neighbor’s activity with the dog,” police told Fox13. “Several of the witnesses stated that they yelled at the suspect to stop, but he ignored their commands.”

Officers found Marsonek, a convicted felon, inside his home and spoke with him before obtaining a search warrant for the property. Inside they seized a gun with ammunition and animal services took custody of eight large pit bulls found at the home, Fox13 reported.

He was arrested on two counts of a felon in possession of a firearm, animal cruelty and sexual activity involving animals. He was released on $17,500 bond Wednesday.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates is the world’s richest billionaire, according to Forbes magazine’s annual ranking of global billionaires. With a net worth of $76 billion and helped by a bounce in Microsoft shares, Gates returns to the top of the Forbes Billionaires list for 2014. The 58-year-old Washington resident beat out Mexican media mogul Carlos Slim Helu (with a net worth of only $72 million).

Spanish clothing retailer Amancio Ortega, of the Zara fashion chain, maintained his #3 spot from 2013, but increased his net worth $7 billion for a total of $64 billion, ahead of Warren Buffett (#4) with a net worth of $58.2 billion. Sheldon Adelson of Las Vegas (#8), increased his net worth by $11.5 billion, and made it back into the top ten for the first time since 2007.

The richest people in the world are now worth a combined $6.4 trillion, according to the publication. That record breaking number is up from $5.4 trillion last year. Also, as shares of Google and Facebook hit record highs, the top 15 tech billionaires attained a collective net worth of more than $382 billion, up 40% from the top 15 of last year. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who made the biggest jump on this year’s Forbes Billionaires list, moves up from ninth to sixth among the top richest in the technology industry.

Two People Shot At P Diddy After-Party

Two people were reportedly shot at a CIAA after-party hosted by Diddy in Charlotte, N.C., on Saturday (Mar. 2). The party was for CIAA fans who were in town for the big basketball tournament.

According to police, an altercation happened in the main ballroom and it quickly escalated into two partygoers being shot in the leg. One person was rush to a local hospital while the other was treated and released at the scene.

Several other people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries they sustained when trying to escape the melee.

While details are sketchy, WBTV.com reports that the incident happened at the Sheraton Hotel around 2AM where a party presented by Revolt TV featuring Diddy, Future and Fabolous was taking place at the time.

Diddy, nor his reps, had any comment on the shooting incident. “It wasn’t a CIAA-sponsored event but it was one of the many party venues,” said Capt. Todd Lontz (via Charlotte Observer). Sorry for what happened +P Diddy 

33 Killed In Knife Attack

China has suffered one of its deadliest ever acts of terror, according to authorities, after a group of more than 10 knife-wielding men killed at least 29 people and injured over 130 in a brutal assault at a train station in southwest China’s Kunming city.

China’s far west region of Xinjiang is home to a decades-long, mostly low-grade insurgency by some of its native Uighur inhabitants opposed to Chinese Communist rule. In the past year, deadly attacks have increased, mostly on police stations likely chosen as symbols of Chinese power in Xinjiang.

Beijing blames outside forces and religious extremists for fomenting trouble between the Uighurs, a mostly Muslim people, and the Han, China’s majority ethnic group. Uighur activist groups accuse Chinese authorities of causing unrest through repressive, discriminatory policies. The U.S. State Department said last week there was “severe official repression of the freedoms of speech, religion, association, and assembly of ethnic Uighurs” in Xinjiang in 2013.

Police shot dead four of the more than 10 suspected attackers, captured one alive and are hunting the rest, according to Xinhua. Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping called for “all-out efforts” in the investigation and to “punish the terrorists in accordance with the law.”

Survivor Yang Haifei, who was injured on his chest and back, was buying a ticket when he saw a group of people, mostly in black, charge in and start attacking. “I saw a person come straight at me with a long knife and I ran away with everyone,” he told Xinhua, noting that people who were slower to escape were severely injured. “They just fell on the ground,” he said.
