Why People Drink Beer After Working Out

Moderation is crucial when it comes to consuming any alcoholic beverage, and once you properly factor in the calories, a better understanding of how to moderate them soon follows. Moderated drinking after a workout appears to not have any negative effects on muscle recovery.

Beer pairs well with food at the table; it helps you to relax after a long day of work. It actually contains beneficial nutrients. Beer’s rich with readily absorbed antioxidants, and the more hop-heavy varieties are loaded with hop polyphenols, the stuff that kills cancer cells and lowers cholesterol. Not only that, but beer features a few of the minerals and electrolytes that can be found in sports drinks, and the leftover sugar from the fermentation process.

It can work with a fitness-focused diet. Like most beer lovers, I was ecstatic when I learned about the Spanish study that found beer hydrates a post-workout body better than water.
