Is Trump A Dictator?

Magic Johnson gave his two cents on Donald Trump's controversial travel ban, on Sunday night [Jan. 29], saying that it is "not who we are as Americans." He also directed some sharp words at the President, with a warning that he remember he is legislating over democracy.

"It’s just not a good time. He’s gotta learn you can’t just be a dictator. We’ve never had a president like that. We’ve always had a president who brought the country together and brought all people together. That’s what we need today, right now, and we’re not getting that," Johnson told a TMZ reporter while exiting the W Hotel in Los Angeles.

The Trump Administration has moved quickly to deliver on the promises he made to his base over the course of his campaign. The executive order, which denies all refugees entry into the U.S. for a four month period, blocks citizens from seven Middle Eastern and African countries for the next 90-days and instills a ban on refugees from Syria indefinitely, which comes days after he signed an order to begin construction on a Mexican border wall. Johnson touched on each of those decisions, while also raising the plight of African-Americans and women.

Mexican Police Arrested

The four men arrested by the U.S. Border Patrol after a man with a gunshot was found last week in Hudspeth County turned out to be Mexican law enforcement officers who inadvertently crossed the border. The Israeli-made drone was quickly returned to Mexico with U.S. officials citing trust between both nations for helping solve the situation.

On the evening of June 5, Border Patrol agents found a man with a gunshot wound to a leg near farms about two miles east of Hudspeth County line, Border Patrol spokesman Agent Ramiro Cordero said Friday. Four other men were arrested after crossing the border.

Cordero said that the four men were Chihuahua state police officers who were armed and had mistakenly crossed the border searching for the wounded man. The international boundary is at the middle of the Rio Grande, which was dry at that location.

In 2009, six Mexican federal police officers were detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in El Paso after they walked into U.S. territory while looking for a suspect vehicle on the Bridge of the Americas, according to El Paso Times archives. The uniformed officers were detained for less than four hours before they and their weapons were returned to Mexico. The border is set at the middle of the international bridge.

The Orbiter Mini Unmanned Aerial Vehicle did not have permission to be in U.S. airspace, according to El Paso Times archives. Mexican officials refused to talk about the drone’s mission but said that it was on a surveillance flight. The drone developed mechanical problems and Mexican officials immediately notified the U.S. that the drone could fall on the U.S. side of the border.

The Water Monster Spotted In Mexico

Rumors are that the once disappeared water monster that was named exstinct has been spotted in Mexico. exico's salamander-like axolotl apparently hasn't disappeared from its only known natural habitat in Mexico City's few remaining lakes.

Researchers say they have sighted, but not caught, two of the slippery little creatures during a second effort to find them. A weekslong effort last year by researchers in skiffs trying to net axolotls in the shallow, muddy waters of Xochimilco lake found none, raising fears that they might only now survive in captivity.

The axolotl, admittedly ugly with a slimy tail, plumage-like gills and mouth that curls into an odd smile, is known as the "water monster" and the "Mexican walking fish." It's only natural habitat is the Xochimilco network of lakes and canals — the "floating gardens" of earth piled on reed mats that the Aztecs built to grow crops but are now suffering from pollution, urban sprawl and invasive species.

Different Types Of Wolves

First up is a Timber Wolf (Gray Wolf) - The male stands 3 foot at the shoulder with the average weight being 100 lbs., but can be as much as 175 lbs. Their powerful jaws are built to crush the bones of its prey. They have the biting capacity of 1500 pounds per square inch. There are 5 subspecies of gray wolf and 7 to 12 in Eurasia, the arctic wolf is among these.

Subspecies are often difficult to distinguish from one another because they have been known to interbreed in areas where their geographic ranges overlap. Earlier in the century these animals were labeled as troublesome livestock killers and were wiped out in Yellowstone Park. In 1995 Canadian grays were reintroduced to repopulate the park and today the reintroduction stands as a huge success.

Second, would be a Red wolf - This wolf is a much smaller wolf, standing 16 inches high at the shoulder and weighing 40 to 80 lbs. Their faces are much narrower, with larger ears and shorter coats. Their colors range from reddish to black. The red wolf was declared extinct in the wild, there were none in Canada or Mexico that could be transferred to the U.S., but there were a few in captivity that were bred and introduced onto public land with the help of the Fish and Wildlife Service, with success. Since that time the wolves have spread onto private land, and have once again come under attack by wolf protesters.

Mexican Gray Wolf - Smaller than the timber wolf, weighing 60 to 90 lbs. Until recently, the Mexican Wolf no longer resided in the wild in the United States. Hunted to near extinction here, they only survived in programs managed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), until March 1997 when eleven Mexican wolves were released into the wild in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest

On August 7, 1998 Wolf #174 was found mortally wounded by a mountain lion. Wolf #174 was the first Mexican wolf to give birth in the wild in 50 years. The male wolf and pup are being monitored, in the wild, to be certain the pup is being cared for.

Coyote (prairie wolf) - This wolf is smaller and more delicately built, standing 16 to 20 inches from the shoulder. The males weigh 27 to 33 lbs. with colors ranging from gray to tan with rust. The coyote is not an endangered species, but are considered dangerous to livestock and killed by the thousands each year.

World’s Most Wanted Cartel Boss

According to CNN, Reuters, and The New York Times, an unnamed senior American law enforcement official. “A Mexican security source confirmed the capture, saying it took place in Mazatlan, a seaside resort in Guzman's northwestern home state of Sinaloa.

Sinaloa drug cartel leader Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman has been captured by U.S. and Mexican law enforcement officials. He had been on the run since 2001 when he escaped from a Mexican prison. Guzman is considered to be the most powerful drug lord in Mexico and was even named on Forbes magazine’s 2009 list featuring the world’s most powerful people.

The U.S. official also told CNN that Guzman was accompanied by a female when he was arrested and that the bust was part of “a joint operation with Mexican marines and Drug Enforcement Administration authorities overnight.” He said that the operation had been in the works for four or five weeks.

This arrest is a huge coup for law enforcement on both sides of the U.S. – Mexican border. Guzman was on many Most Wanted lists and marks the 25th drug lord to be killed or captured of the 37 most-wanted organized crime leaders announced in 2010.

The city of Chicago branded him the first “Public Enemy No. 1″ since Al Capone, due to Guzman’s influence on the city’s drug market and subsequent street violence. U.S. authorities offered a $5 million reward for information that led to his capture.

Heads Found Outside Church

Just steps from the front door of a church, on plastic bags spread over paving stones, the decapitated heads of four people were discovered in the roiling Mexican state of Michoacan. Arms and legs were found elsewhere in the small town of Zacan.

The grisly scene came just days after two severed heads were left in front of a bank in Paracuaro, a nearby enclave. A message also accompanied those remains. “For all those who switched sides,” it read, an apparent warning to cartel snitches.

The decapitation discoveries occurred in the same week that Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto visited the state capital of Moreila to announce he would pump more than $3 million into the local economy to help reverse “institutional weakness” in the area.

Michoacan is under siege by the meth-producing Knights Templar, a ruthless crime syndicate that demands kickbacks from local residents and traffics millions in the drug and sex trades. Vigilantes have risen up to fight the vicious cartel and the state has degenerated into anarchy in many towns and villages.

The Knights Templar also is locked in a turf war with the Jalisco New Generation cartel over meth production and smuggling routes. Thursday’s decapitations may have been a public warning about supporting the quasi-religious.

The Mexican Drug War

The New York Times reported on the deteriorating conditions in the state, with government officials promising to seize back control from the cartel on Monday (January 13). However, citizens who have taken up arms have been warring in the open with the drug gangs in the western Mexican state.

The Mexican Drug War has been raging for years and despite military intervention to quell the violence sparked by the drug cartels, the battles have torn many regions apart. Now, government officials in Mexico have to also contend with civilian vigilantes known as “self-defense” groups who have declared war on the violent Knights Templar cartel in the state of Michoacán.

The turmoil in Michoacán — where vigilantes have been battling cartel gunmen on village streets — poses one of the biggest security challenges for President Enrique Peña Nieto, whose focus since taking office a little over a year ago has been on the economy.
