Alicia Keys says she did not even realize the rapper joined her and Jay-Z on stage.
The MTV Video Music Awards has given the culture with some of the most iconic live stage performance moments in history. This year, Chlöe Bailey licked her microphone at the end of her performance of “Have Mercy.” Beyoncé received a well-deserved standing ovation for her first solo performance in 2003. And then there’s the legendary three-way kiss between Britney Spears, Madonna, and Christina Aguilera.
Alicia Keys slipped out of her stunning lavender gown to change into an equally vibrant yellow dress for the Vanity Fair Oscar party while J.Lo brightened up the red carpet in a vibrant yellow ensemble, a blonde bob cut and fresh dewy makeup.
Here is a little about the two and why they like yellow.
Brooklyn’s Fivio Foreign unleashes the “City Of Gods” on his new single featuring Kanye West and Alicia Keys.
On the drill banger, nestled with adlibs by Playboi Carti, Fivio and Ye detail the gritty side of the city that never sleeps, while Alicia Keys belts a triumphant hook which interpolates The Chainsmokers’ “New York City”.
In celebration of International Women's Day Monday, the pop star shared a video compilation on Instagram featuring several of her famous friends, including Alicia Keys, Andra Day, Vanessa Bryant, Regina King, Tiffany Haddish, Gabrielle Union and Zaya Wade.
With no disrespect to other female sings, but I think Beyonce should do her verzuz battle against herself. Many think it should be Rihanna, while others are saying Janet Jackson. But what if it was Mariah Carey or Alicia Keys.
Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s Verzuz battle series has grown from a novel event bridging hip-hop’s past and present into uplifting excitement in our indoor spring and summer, joining DJ sessions by D-Nice, Questlove, and others.
Verzuz is fun, simple, and wide open — maybe a little too wide open. The audience is mostly in charge of the scoring, and there’s rarely a consensus on points. Regional bias and generational schisms creep up. Playing a deep cut almost categorically loses you the point, even if it’s one of the greatest songs of all time.
While RiRi didn’t earn her first №1 accolade until her seventh LP, Beyonce claimed that slot well before her 22nd birthday with her first solo effort, “Dangerously In Love” and also Destiny’s Child’s “Survivor.”
Gary With Da Tea felt strongly that Janet Jackson should be the one, Verzuz Battle Between Beyoncé & Rihanna Would Break Record, Says Ne-Yo. But what do you think? Comment your answers below in the comment box!
Since purchasing Tidal for $56 million back in 2015, Jay-Z has made the streaming service a big contender in the music industry. But it could be that Jay-Z is considering handing-off a majority stake in the company. The rapper has reportedly been in talks to sell the site to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and his Square Inc. payment company.
As reported by Bloomberg, Square Inc. is looking to “diversify” their assets with the purchase of Tidal. The streaming service hasn’t publicly released their year-end figures since reporting they had 3 million paying customers back in 2016, but Jay-Z’s move to put his music back on Spotify has led some to question the longevity of the platform.

New teenage singer Mailynn Severson breaks the mold for Pop genre with intriguing new sound and style
SAN JOSE, CA – The music from 16-year-old Mailynn Severson might on the surface sound like the innocent teenage girl trying to become the next big Pop star, but upon closer inspection her music doesn’t really fit in with that “cookie-cutter” Pop sound of today’s music industry. With lyrics that have deeper, almost melancholy allusions and a sound that fits more alongside the angst-driven female singers of the 1990s, Severson’s brand of Pop is something a little different. It’s a breath of fresh air in a crowded world of entertainment that’s often displayed with bubblegum packaging for young teenage singers.
