Russell Simmons Facing New Charges

Russell Simmons is facing another rape allegation, this time from a woman referred to as "Jane Doe" who worked at Def Jam in the 1990s. The lawsuit, filed under New York's Adult Survivors Act, accuses Simmons of obstructing the plaintiff's career due to harassment.

Doe, a music executive and video producer, alleges that a professional relationship turned violent when Simmons assaulted her, leading to rape. The incident purportedly resulted in panic attacks, depression, and anxiety, impacting Doe's ability to work at Def Jam.

The lawsuit details Simmons' persistent harassment, including unwelcome advances at the label's headquarters. Simmons has consistently denied accusations, claiming consensual encounters. The plaintiff seeks compensatory, consequential, exemplary, general, and punitive damages.
