Kyrie Irving Traded to Dallas Mavericks

Kyrie Irving previously requested that he be traded from the Brooklyn Nets ahead of the trade deadline. While there were a few teams interested, it was unknown where he would head for certain. The Brooklyn Nets reportedly offered Irving a contract extension but were turned down, as he was “vehemently against any stipulations in an extension.” Now, it has been reported that the point guard was traded to the Dallas Mavericks

The trade for Kyrie Irving finds the Brooklyn Nets receiving Spencer Dinwiddle, who previously made his mark with the franchise for five years. Along with that, the Nets will get Dorian Finney-Smith, an unprotected 2029 first-round pick, and 2027 and 2029 second-round picks.

According to the New York Post, Irving noted he considered sitting out for the rest of the season if he wasn’t traded. Stay tuned for more updates.
