In what is considered the largest drug bust of its kind in California, authorities seized $1.19 billion worth of marijuana last month.
The announcement was made on Wednesday after authorities culminated a 10-day sting operation in the Antelope Valley. According to reports, the multi-law enforcement agency bust resulted in 131 arrests and the seizure of 373,000 plants.
Law enforcement is trying desperately to stamp out cartel-run grow operations as they pose a threat to the environment and the legal cannabis industry in California.
