Roc Nation has various artists under their belt that they represent, including Meek Mill, Tinashe, Megan Thee Stallion, Rihanna, Snoh Aalegra, Moneybagg Yo, and more. Reports that surfaced say the split occurred after Mariah Carey and Roc Nation got into a heated argument about the direction of her career.
Sources close to the situation allege that Carey and Jay-Z got into a back-and-forth about the future of Mariah Carey’s career, which pushed her to remove herself from the company. The source said, “Mariah and Jay had an explosive meeting which did not go well at all. She has made it clear she wants nothing more to do with him and has called it quits with Roc Nation." From there, it was noted that Carey “will formally depart in the next few weeks. It is a shame because they had done some great work in the last few years. But this meeting couldn’t have gone much worse." Despite the alleged disagreement, an insider noted that Carey and Jay-Z are still on good terms.
Since the alleged split, Mariah Carey has reportedly been speaking with other management as she plans a world tour for next year. Along with that, Carey has been removed from Roc Nation’s roster on their website. This comes after Carey signed to Roc Nation management in 2017.
