Cadillac Returning Back To Michigan

Cadillac will relocate is headquarters back to Detroit from New York City. Cadillac moved its HQ to New York under former boss Johan de Nysschen. Cadillac on Wednesday confirmed that the automaker has decided to relocate the luxury brand's headquarters back to Michigan.

Detroit is great, but it can be an echo chamber, especially in a company as large and storied as General Motors. The problem is that Cadillac still relies heavily on Detroit.

Cadillac is returning its global headquarters to metro Detroit after three years in New York's upscale SoHo neighborhood. The move contradicts General Motors' stated plans in the near future.

A GM spokesman confirmed that Cadillac will move to a location near GM’s technical center in Warren, Mich., north of Detroit. A probable location would be the former headquarters of longtime GM ad agency partner Lowe Campbell Ewald in Warren, Mich., north of Detroit. GM bought the 150,000-square-foot building for $2 million in 2014.

"The move will place the Cadillac brand team closer to those responsible for the new Cadillacs, including design, engineering, purchasing and manufacturing, ensuring full integration of Cadillac's global growth strategy."

New 2017 Cadillac XT5

It's rumored that the 2017 Cadillac XT5 will replace the SRX. The new 2017 Cadillac XT5 combines a large interior with a pleasing ride, plentiful outward visibility and a striking design. If you're shopping in the competitive compact luxury SUV segment, the XT5 is worth a look. The replacement for Cadillac's best-selling model has a different name, but the sharply styled 2017 XT5 delivers better fuel economy, more cargo and passenger space.

See Kim Kardashian's Custom Cadillac Escalade

Kim Kardashian is still a celebrity, but she seems to have pretty good taste in vehicles. Platinum Motorsport built this custom Cadillac Escalade Platinum ESV for her and showed it off on Instagram with photography from Paid2Shoot.

The Escalade gets a coat of KK Silver paint, which is likely a reference to Kardashian's initials, that has a satin finish. There's a mesh grille with a monochromatic Cadillac emblem. Platinum Motorsport lowered the suspension and filled out the fenders with 26-inch wheels. The windows are tinted.

The Plot Behind Jennifer Lopez's 'Ain't It Funny' Video

When Ashanti wrote the song 'Ain't It Funny', who would have known Jennifer Lopez would be the one singing on the chorus. This song is sampled from rapper Craig Mack's "Flava in Ya Ear".

While he was working towards the remix, Ja Rule boasted "I'm about to f--- ya'll up," stating that the song's sampling of Craig Mack's "Flava In Ya Ear" would be "remixed" and "vamped up crazy". While reviewing the original "Ain't It Funny", Billboard's Chuck Taylor said of the remix release, "Sony has got to be kidding, calling it "Ain't it Funny" when not one note of it is held in common with the original.

The music video features two parts which frequently interchange back and forth throughout the song. The first part of the video shows Lopez having a small party in her home with guests including Ja Rule and Ashanti. This part of the video is from the point of view of the guy who is being mentioned in the song.

Cops Kill Another Black Man

A white police officer who was feeling threatened used lethal force on an unarmed black man. The incident left the officer unharmed and Brisbon, 34, dead with two bullet wounds in his torso at a north Phoenix apartment complex.

Phoenix police quickly released a detailed account of the killing for the media on Wednesday morning in what officials said was an effort to promote transparency, especially in light of the unrest that has played out in Ferguson and New York City following the deaths of unarmed Black men at the hands of White officers. But portions of that account have already been challenged by some witnesses and community activists who say that the officer’s use of force was excessive and that Brisbon’s death was unwarranted.

Shortly before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, officers were in the area of Interstate 17 and Greenway Road for a burglary investigation when a resident of an apartment complex told them that men inside a black Cadillac SUV were engaged in a drug deal. Police checked the license plate that the tipster provided and found it was registered to a resident in the 15,400 block of North 25th Avenue, where there was also a pending report of a “loud music disturbance.”

The officer said the driver, later identified as Brisbon, got out and appeared to be removing something from the rear of the SUV. The officer told Brisbon to show his hands, but Brisbon stuffed his hands into his waistband. Brisbon refused to comply with the officer’s commands to get on the ground, and the two struggled once the officer caught up with him.

During the struggle, Brisbon put his left hand in his pocket and the officer grabbed onto the suspect’s hand, while repeatedly telling the suspect to keep his hand in his pocket,” he said. “The officer believed he felt the handle of a gun while holding the suspect’s hand in his pocket.

A woman inside an apartment opened a door at that moment, and the officer and Brisbon tumbled inside, Crump said. Two children, ages 9 and 2, were in a back bedroom, he said. The officer could no longer keep a grip on Brisbon’s hand and, because he feared that the suspect had a gun in his pocket, fired two shots, Crump said. The item in Brisbon’s pocket turned out to be a bottle of oxycodone pills, he said.Crump said the officers are aware of the delicate nature of the case and are asking the community to allow investigators to gather all the facts.

The Putin Limousine

Putin arrived in the Finnish capital on Monday for his first face-to-face with Trump. Amongst the lighter topics of conversation between the two presidents may well be the comparison of their respective state cars: Trump’s Cadillac dubbed ‘The Beast’ and Putin’s Aurus Senat limo.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is in Helsinki to meet with US counterpart Donald Trump, is using the occasion to showcase Russia’s new Aurus limo, the state car designed as part of a new luxury brand.

The Russian limos were delivered to Finland last week on an Ilyushin Il-76 transport plane, according to local media. It’s the first public appearance of the Aurus brand outside Russia.

The new car line was developed as part of a project called Kortezh (“motorcade” in Russian). In addition to the limousine, the Aurus line includes a sedan, also called Senat, as well as a minivan named Arsenal, and a 4x4 car called Komendant. The cars are expected to enter the market next year.
