Trump Begins Construction Of Border Wall

Construction started Friday on the US-Mexico border wall project at Border Field State Park, the third project in San Diego County. Roughly 14 miles of the 8-to-10-foot-high barrier made out of scrap metal will be replaced with a ‘bollard-style wall’ more than twice as tall at the US-Mexico border.

Construction on a stretch of the U.S.-Mexico border wall kicked off Friday in San Diego, Calif. The Texas construction company, SLSCO, is in charge for building the San Diego part of the wall. The construction will cost an estimated $147 million, according to FOX 4.

President Donald Trump is finally expected to go to California. The president, who has rarely crossed the Mississippi River during his first 13 months in office, is scheduled to visit San Diego in mid-March to see prototypes for a potential border wall and learn more about the construction.

A key segment of the planned border wall between the United States and Mexico began construction on Friday in San Diego, about a half mile from the Pacific Ocean. President Donald Trump said Wednesday that his administration will move forward with the construction of a proposed border wall in San Diego, at the county's request.

"San Diego has asked us to go forward with their section of the wall in California." San Diego–Tijuana is an international metropolitan conurbation, straddling the border of the adjacent North American coastal cities of San Diego, California, United States.
