New York Jets star Chris Johnson got in trouble with the law after he was arrested for carrying an open firearm in Orlando, Florida.According to ESPN, the running back was pulled over Friday night after running a stop sign. Johnson cooperated with officials during the traffic stop but upon inspection, the officer spotted a gun on the floor between two seats.
Johnson claims the gun was actually found under a bookbag but wasn’t locked up. The player ended up in a holding cell where he was placed on a $250 bond. He was also charged with a second-degree misdemeanor for the loaded gun. Johnson says he was unaware it was loaded at the time. His team released a statement on the matter saying, “We are aware and have no comment at this time, as this is a pending legal matter.”The 29-year-old was released after paying his bond but has been relatively quiet on social media.
